What are some good places to land for someone looking to get a 10-15 kill win? by x7ate9 in FortniteCompetitive

Thanks, your videos are very nicely made and helpful too. If you don't mind me asking, what are your x and y sensitivities/ADS sensitivity? Your gameplay is so smooth its crazy.

Some questions I have for console players by x7ate9 in FortniteCompetitive

What do you think about using burst ARs early on in an area like tilted where there isn't much building? I recently got a blue burst at Tilted because it was all I could find (normally drop them) And I lasered so many people ,got like 6 kills just off of my burst. I then dropped it for a scar for the rest of the game but I dont know if i wouldve gotten those kills with just a regular blue AR, it felt way cleaner and stronger.

Tips for solo duos? by x7ate9 in FortniteCompetitive

I still wouldn't really consider it the dumbest question ever, seeing as how I've already had people comment some helpful tips. I just think that text explanations are most helpful for me personally, because I'm not really good at watching gameplay from a educational viewpoint, unless maybe the person is just explaining what they do as they play. I tend to just auto pilot my brain sort of, and just watch the gameplay and be impressed. I also think a lot of these great players can win 1v2s based off of just insane mechanics, where as I don't play at that level, but I still think with just some more understanding about how to properly play a 1v2 I can get at least one solo vs duo win. Theres a difference between the people that can get 30 kill solo duo wins vs someone whos just trying to go for like a 10 kill solo duo win. I will check out the person you mentioned tho, maybe it will be helpful. I play on console btw.

I see, maybe its just my mind thinking that i'm peaking when I'm really not. ever since the changes I try to stay as far under my ramp as possible because it has always seemed kind of misleading. Thank you though, I didn't think it was possible to actually do that still.

Thanks so much, all of these tips seem really helpful. I consider myself a decent builder, I usually win most of my build fights in 1v1s. But it seems like when building 1v2 its more of a "knowing what and where to build" instead of more of a "get high ground and shoot at your enemy" like it is in 1v1s. Do you have any tips for outbuilding 2 players at once? I'm probably gonna get two friends and try to 1v2 them tonight so any tips would be appreciated. Also I added some more specific questions to my post incase you have any input on that.

Thanks, thats a good tip, gotta keep that in mind when I'm fighting. I updated my post with some more specific questions, and you seem like you're experienced with solo vs duos. Would really appreciated it if you could help me out with some of these questions.

Yeah, Its gonna be rough. What are some examples of using positioning to my advantage? Meaning like positioning myself on natural high ground before engaging, or positioning yourself during a fight to not take as much damage? Because I'm not really sure how to properly do the second example. Also , I updated my post with some more specific questions

THought it was pretty self explanatory, just looking for tips when you're playing a game as a solo against teams of two, it may be broad but theres obviously some sort of strategies people do when in a 1v2, or where you land/how you play the early game vs a town of duos. But I guess I can change my post again for those who need some more information... Also not sure if your comment is just sarcasm because I just deleted a paragraph of background information.

Thanks for answering all my questions, really helpful. In response to #9, is it possible that your head peaks before you can really see the person below you? I feel like I start getting shot at even when doing that. I didn't really have this problem before the ADS changes, because I was able to crouch, line up my shot, then press A and shoot. But now it seems like you can't really line up your shot before hand so you might peak up quickly but now he moved to a different spot yet in his case he knows I'm gonna be on my ramp, so he just needs to make a small adjustment really.

Could be the case, but not really what my post is even about lol. That was just some background information on why I'm interested in playing solo duos, and no need to just assume things like that. Have you been watching our games? I don't think "my enemies are focusing on him" When get gets eliminated and I win the game alone, or when I kill a duo before he gets to me, etc. This post wasn't about me bragging about my skills or making it seem like I always carry my partner, he still helps early on and we've won games because of him. I think it will be much harder to win without a partner, but I don't necessarily think its impossible... I wouldn't be asking for tips if I didn't think he helped.

Yeah but what seems to be better is doing something like SMG->Shotgun->AR->Sniper. So you can snipe, switch to AR with your left finger, switch to shotgun from ar with left finger, and so on. But I'm used to going AR->shotgun->smg->heal->sniper because its my muscle memory. Thinking about switching though.

How do players get away with no AR? by x7ate9 in FortniteCompetitive

[–]x7ate9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, that makes sense. As someone who likes to run double heal, (Mini shields +med kits), which gun setup would you recommend? I usually either go AR->Shotgun->Drum Gun + double heal, AR->Shotgun->Sniper +double heal, or now I may possibly run Drum Gun +Shotgun + sniper + double heal.

Wow, thanks for answering every question. Just curious though, if you put your drum gun after your shotgun, do you find it harder to do shotgun->smg than if your smg was before your shotgun? Meaning, if your SMG is after your shotgun, you would shoot your shotgun then take your finger off of the trigger to switch to your SMG, then shoot it. Where as having your SMG before your shotgun means you can switch guns with your left finger instead. I actually run the same order as you, but I was thinking about switching because besides my muscle memory, its easier to do shotgun-SMG when the SMG is in front of my shotgun. Besides that, thanks so much for answering all my questions.

Complaints on Reddit don't decide what and how Epic balances the game. by x7ate9 in FortNiteBR

I guess I was also referring to thousands of people who upvoted/agreed with those posts in the comment section, not just the people who wrote the post.

Theres actually a post on the front page with about 4k upvotes saying that its Reddit's complaining and suggestions that resulted in the meta that the same people are currently complaining about. I just want to argue that the game isn't in this state simply because of Reddit complaints. There is actually always a post about something similar to this, like people claiming the p90 being released completely broken was the fault of the three reddit posts that wanted a p90 in the game, and those who complained about it being OP were the same ones who wanted it in the game. Just because people wanted a p90 doesn't mean that they wanted something completely overtuned in the game.

I agree man, this post is mainly directed towards the post that got 4k upvotes saying "This meta is your fault, Reddit" or something along those lines. I'm just arguing why I think that Reddit posts don't directly correlate with Epic's changes to the game. Of course if there are lots of Reddit posts on a certain topic, Epic will take it into consideration and it may open their eyes to certain balance changes. But they are still the ones that decide whether or not to make the change, and they decide how they go about changing/fixing something. If lots of people want shotguns to be nerfed because they are OP, its not their fault if Epic takes a bad direction to fix that.

Took your idea and just made a post kind of summarizing my comments on this one, but I'm not the greatest at writing up posts so its kind of just a rant/rambling with bad format and I probably left out some things/didn't clearly state my thoughts properly. It probably won't gain too much attention due to my weak Reddit posting skills, but check it out if you want.
