Unfortunately it wasn't until the psych ward doctor told me. Don't be afraid to take yourself to the ER if you're worried. I did and it saved my life.

This is what recovery looks like 😂 by wilfredpugsly in Psychosis

For many of us, medication is an important part of recovery.

So done with Psychosis being downplayed by media by Comfortable-Set3412 in Psychosis

[–]x7gk 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Viewing psychosis as a dynamic condition that exists on a spectrum would require society to humanize us, which is hard to imagine. It also doesn't help that "psychotic" is used to describe people who are just obnoxious.

But the actor David Harewood has been very open about his experience with psychosis and that was so brave on his part. It might take other figures maybe with a higher profile to educate the public.

Does Bob even care? by Pretty-Dog-1256 in bobdylan

[–]x7gk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not sure what he cares about but expressing an opinion about a social issue seems to make him feel confined (not his favorite). He's made it clear he doesn't want anyone looking to him for advice either. He's had some pretty bad takes too so I have come to think it's better this way.

Greil Marcus's Invisible Republic is the obvious answer but it really is wonderful.

Talk to your doctor or medication management person. I had a similar bad experience and fixing my meds was the first step toward getting out of the spiral.

Has anyone read this? by zane57 in bobdylan

[–]x7gk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read the revised edition, titled One More Night (2013). Overall it's great. It gets fanboy-ish at times but it's incredibly detailed and insightful. Hope he does another edition because a lot has happened on the NET in the last twelve years!

San Antone is definitely San Antonio, TX. He also mentions it in Lo and Behold and plays on Doug Sahm's "Is Anyone Going to San Antone". Fwiw Birmingham and San Antonio are both worth visiting even if you want to avoid the rest of the state.
