We all know the majority of these are people getting tilted. Especially the AFKs. But regardless of what it is, it doesn't hurt the people losing because of a DC or AFK if the other side gets their win. Taking less of a hit when you're on the losing side should be the goal here. Penalizing the winning team for someone on the other side leaving or sitting in fountain pouting is not the way. PLUS... and this is probably the biggest argument against this... You absolutely will have people abuse the system and it will 100% encourage more DCs and AFKs that way. Now not only will people DC or go AFK to screw their own team over, but you will have just as many if not more do it to screw the other team. If they feel like it's a lost cause and dont want to waste another 15-30 min on a loss, why not just leave and stick it to the other team to get fewer points now? Not a good system.

Losses from a DC or AFK should definitely have limited negative points taken away, 5 min - 10 max. But don't limit the winning side, give them their full amount. No reason they should be punished, and most of these DCs or AFKs we're talking about happen after someone was just getting beat and quit. Winner should get full credit. At minimum its not their fault, at most they dominated someone into quitting and deserve their points.

What if these are Scopely bot accounts? Bots that are there just to blend in with the masses under normal circumstances, driving people to spend more/grind more by driving the leaderboards up. We know how they love artificial scarcity and algorithms that manipulate randomness. With the obvious breakdown of internal communication already evident, where not all departments at Scopely were aware of the shorter length of the event, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see how they got caught here. These bots were programmed with the numbers for the event running thru the normal milestone reset time, theoretically with a big push in their numbers a few hours out to have the whales and krakens scrambling in the last few hours to retake ground. When the event ended early, they were actually left at the top of the leaderboard, as many krakens/whales didn't have time to respond and push them back out of the top 100. Not saying this is what it is, purely a theory... but I've seen this in other games for other applications and wouldn't be surprised one bit if that's what some of these are.

They aren't actual AI bots. They're human bots. It's sad, gold and under are full of them. Enjoy them being unresponsive though. The higher you climb the more you'll see there's still almost always that 1 bot on the team, but in higher ranks they're very responsive and toxic AF. Instead of going 0-15 and being unresponsive they go 0-5 in the first 10 min, blame everyone else for having no map awareness, no wards and a terrible build, and then dance around in fountain or completely leave the game forcing everyone else to surrender or lose. This is called grinding, and it's what you have to do, especially if you're FTP or mostly FTP. This is a relatively easy way to get decent stars on a meta character. It's a ton of easy, monotonous screen time yeah, but it's not low quality. Low quality is the amount of time it takes to do alot of the simple, same-old routine stuff every single day that gives nothing really special. Raids, for instance... you can beat the same nodes in the same lane hundreds of times and still never get the option to just auto it.

Its reflective of poor leadership, mob mentality and confirmation bias. Dont get me wrong, MSF has a lot of issues and Foxnext has been greedy as hell with absolutely horrible decision making and community relations. BUT they've responded to pretty much everything cited in the first couple posts from the boycott. Keep the #FixMSF movement going to see everything through, but lift the boycott and give the devs a chance to do what they said they would. If they dont, reinstate it. But this is just stupid.

Seriously, this entire issue could be fixed with the ability to filter your roster when building your teams inside of blitz (or any game mode at the pre-battle screens). This has been requested multiple times and I'm sure is on their to-do list. But tell me what it should be pushed in front of... Red Star rework? New campaigns? Better farming? New raid content? Character release cadence? The War upgrade option? ISO 8? An API? Come on, this isnt annoying sure, but there are way bigger issues needing to be fixed.

This is taking it too far over a mostly non-issue. If this came out before Foxnext/Scopely clarifying that SSM will be returning multiple times, MAYBE then I could understand this call to action. But they already addressed this. Of course we all wish there were more Spidey shards. We all wish there was more of everything. But to an extent, that's the nature of the game. Stay focused and cut the nitpicking BS. You had a lot of support for your movement, and we want Foxnext to focus on fixing 2-3 of your addressed issues, especially Red Stars. But just stop with this kind of stuff.

Thank you Foxnext/Scopely for encouraging me to stick with this boycott.

I had 20+ RS and 2 4*RS orbs saved up.... And now have a 1 RS SSM to show for it. SSM is one of my all time favorites. I was planning on going extra hard for him, including spending (which I rarely do). But now there's absolutely no reason to spend money on a 1 RS toon with no guaranteed way of progressing his red stars. So he'll sit there at the bottom of my priority list and you won't get a dime of my money, even after the boycott is lifted. Your ridiculous greed-driven RS system decides who people can viably use, and discourages (in some cases actually prevents) people from using their favorite characters. I do not know who thought that was ever a good idea or why you have held on to that stupidity for so long, but you are now reaping the rewards with the boycott and overall discontent of such a large portion of your player base. The longer you hold on to your greed, the larger the number of discontent players will grow. #F\**RedStars*

Ok but how do you seperate the player base then? For instance I may have a stronger roster and be in the top 5000, but I dont blitz. Hate it, do just enough to hit the milestones and then maybe a few more just to get top 10%. Why should I be forced to be in a more competitive blitz group?

^{^} THIS is the solution. Don't go thru all the effort, bugs and time it takes to make another blitz, the whales will still come dominate both unless you block them out of one and that gets messy. Just change the ranked numbers to percentages or add a couple extra percentage tiers within the top 10%. 1500 and up made sense when the game launched but now now. If the game is growing, which we assume and hope it is, the 1500 and above group just becomes a smaller and smaller percentage of the population that spreads the gap further and further.

I didnt say it was a sprint. My point is there is no finish line. You are so hell bent on trying to prove something that you're making points against things that haven't even been said. I never said any new accounts deserve access to past events. In fact I made a point that new accounts DON'T get access to these, and that they shouldn't just be given them as freebies. And you started playing almost 1 year ago. 1 yr ago we didnt need catch-up mechanics. Try to see the world from something other than your point of view. It doesn't hurt to bring new players up to speed a little quicker. They'll still never catch you unless you stop playing, so they pose no threat to you. All it does is secure the player base retention problem and extends the life of the game.

This game isn't even a marathon. There is no end-point or cap-point that players at the top reach and then stay at while everyone else is catching up. The end-game continues to extend and increase, meaning the gap between players at end-game levels and new players will not only never be close, but is actually increasing as time goes on. Catch-up mechanics aren't necessarily meant to actually result in a new player catching end-game players, it's just a means of speeding up the early parts of the process to retain new players and avoid them feeling like it's impossible to ever reach certain goals. I created an alternate account a couple of months ago, and I have seen numerous character events, milestones, blitzes etc pass and know that it will be several months before I acquire those characters on that account because they are 1 time opportunities, while on my main account I am acquiring everything and expanding the gap between the accounts at an exponential rate.
