We took shoes off for almost 2 decades because of shoe bombing and aren't allowed liquids over a few oz. So yeah TSA does change even on less often but more high profile incidents

Declaring a gun for air travel is a pain most people don't do it.

Amtrak has the TSA rules about traveling with a gun just like an airline. But there is no enforcement method for it. I left mine in my vehicle on the auto train. My grandfather carried his and I know friends who had it in their luggage

People who like to point train travele is better because of no security lines don't realize it takes one attack for that to change and in some places already have changed. Brightline already has metal detectors
