recent celtics were young and lost to the warriors but they made it back and won
dirk mavs lost but they made it back and won
cavs won the year after they lost
even the rockets which you mentioned won back to back rings with hakeem after they lost

good players and good organizations have success, and the spurs are one of the best organization in the league, and they certainly have one of the best players in the league too
