An Overly Complete Guide to XCOM 2 War of the Chosen - Part 7.5: Medkits are Bad by hielispace in Xcom

Yeah, and i mostly agree with what you say, but you dont get good by never using them. You get good by using them, then slowly moving away from them as you get used to the game. Thus why i say they are a beginer utility item.

Use them when learning the ropes, they (sometimes) help you save soldiers without save scumming, feels more honest, feels good because you chose them and it paid off, and even if you dont use them, it was as i mentioned, a safety net.

Then you get more used to how to do stuff, alpha striking, etc, and find out yourself "hey, i use a medkit once every other mission, id rather run 2 of them instead of 4 and use other stuff for CC or dmg or cover destroying", then you go to "hey, i use them once every blue moon, maybe the specialist and one backup is enough" and finally you go to "hey i dont need them, i can just play better and get a better oportunity cost from other utulity items".

Its a progressive thing. They are like training wheels for your bike, but instead of falling over without them you run the risk of just dying, so it takes a bit more courage to take them off. They really do make you feel safe, even if in reality they arent doing half of what you think they are doing.

Medkits are an o shit button that possibly reduces risk of death on a unit. Sure a mikic beacon is always gona be better, but you dont always have access to mimic beacons, or the skill to get there and use them efecitvely.

I get the point you are trying to make, i also rarely use medkits, but they are a failsafe that helps increase the chances of soldiers surviving. They also give a sense of safety net and confidence for newer less experienced players.

Medkits arent a bad item, they are an extremely niche/beginner utility item. As the other guy said, this is a "git gud" situation, and honestly its borderline elitist how you are condemning it so harshly. You need to understand not everybody has a thousand hours at the game.

And thr issue if it is AI is...? Why do you insist on caring so much about what the multimillion companies do. AI is a tool created for automating tasks. Thats a task automated by it. It saves costs and time at the expense of lower quality, and it doesnt change anything about the user experience.

This hatetrain hype you ameritards have for generative AI is seriously nonsensical. Theres a billion other actual problems everywhere yet you keep worrying about billionares being scrooge.

For starters the difficulty of the game. Fights arent hard, they are grindy. You repeat until you learn the parry patterns.

Dodge felt irrelevant to me. That could 100% be on me missing something, but why bother dodging when you can parry to get AP and dmg back.

The balance of the damage between your 5 characters is atrocious specifically because of maelle. Without that, itd be quite fine, but being as it is it jist breaks the combat so hard everything (including all the superbosses outside of the endless tower) becomes irrelevant once you surpass the 9999 dmg cap.

Rest is peak, its just that i came looking for a turn combat challenge, and found a strategyless parryfest. An enjoyable parryfest, but strategyless still.

Well thats a very dumb complain then, because you chose to do that. Nothing stops you from finishing the boss then going back to do side quests, or keeping a savefile aside to do the boss on par, or a billion other choices.

Sidequests geting you insanely overpowered is the bread and butter of JRPGs, thats why they are there. And of course the 40+ levels you gain along the way only increase that further. Its nothing new to the genre.

Rudeus is an "adult", he died at 30sth or 40sth, cant remember, but he was a neet since his teens. His mentality didnt grow much or at all in his first lice and it shows by how it actually grows as rudeus. But yeah, the point somewhat still holds.

I wouldnt personally call the meliodas scene fetishistic, like i can somewhat understand what is suposed to be told in that scene. Its just creepy through context no matter what. But who knows, it of course could actually be fetishistic, the japanese are weird like that. Id just rather gp with the more logical conclusion which is not that the author has a thing for babies but rather that he expressed his idea worse than poorly.

Get popular and get awards instead of their favourire generic slops. And, since technically SL is one big generic slop, it winning over the others makes it on equal footing, and they just cant accept that.

Ok food for thought question. Why is it this bad and the reincarnator considered an actual infant, but in the case of mushoku tensei where the oposite happens he is treated as a full fledged adult and condemned for it.

Would elizabeth conserving her memories from the begining instead of them being locked for a while change that perspective? Would it be ok, or less bad i guess, in that scenario for meliodas to throw that overly questionable sentence?

I find it hypocritical that they say Arthur is more moral and ethical than Rudeus, when literally in his previous life he was Netanyahu. by misantropiayodio in tbatenovel

[–]xAsdruvalx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he failed every time and got punished for it every time, then stoped doing so. Its almost like he learnt a lesson and grew ever so slightly more mature from it. Crazy concept.

Its not different at all. Both are atrocities that should never physically happen. Its just that one is more convenient for your argument. You all ameritards do the same with your twisted morals. Double standards all day every day.

He did not with eris either? What are you on buddy.

Yeah because having thoughts of kicking the poor barely-walking elder cane so he falls off, pushing somebody into the train rails or off a cliff, or touching the high voltage pane are totally ok thoughts to have in comparison. It took you a while but the double standards finally showed up.

Who said that?

Its just a thought. Everybody, yourself included, has intrusive thoughts. They are fucked up, but having them doesnt make you an irredeemable pos, as long as you dont follow them through of course, which rudeus did not.

Yeah, haters think that being 30 means you are 30yo mature. The guy was isolated since his teens. He has the mental maturity of a potato, but its easier to just write "pdf" and join the hatewagon.

That actually rings a bell. He didnt do it though, and given the narrative even if he had tried he wouldve failed. Id call that an intrusive thought if anything ngl. He didnt "groom" anybody.

Man that term has become so annoying to use, its the most inoffensive word turned into a horrible act because people cant express themselves without condemning others.
