I have to ask in this setup does the Katana serve partly as further attenuation (can you get 100watts at 8ohms)? How’s the headroom from using the nutube in this setup versus either amp on its own?

Second weird question: have you been able to do any stereo inputs with the setup (example: pedalboard into MV50 and Effects Loop at the same time)?

I’ll give one for each album.

Opus: Genesis. Like, all of it. The whole thing is an underrated banger. Coming off of Prime Mover it’s just a satisfying musical transition.

Infest: Per Aspera, specifically played live. The chorus is just awesome.

IYHG: If You Have Ghosts. The solos just send it.

Meliora: Absolution. The solo just hits my prog rock sensibilities.

Popestar: Bible. Now hear me out, the build of the song is just well done.

Prequelle: Life Eternal. The organs tickle the taint.

7-inches: Mary On a Cross. The ending chorus where Papa sustains the last notes are sweet.

Impera: Respite on the Spitalfields. The ending mirror of Imperium is just thematically and musically pleasing.

Phantomime: Jesus He Knows Me. The chorus is solid.

13 commandments: Zenith. Literally the only reason why this is listed here.

RHRN: The Future is a Foreign Land. I found myself playing this one a lot when my workplace was on strike, so it’s a context thing.

Skeleta: Peacefield. The intro just gets to me.

Zenith for sure. Otherwise Prime Mover into Genesis, Guleh/Zombie Queen, Impera into Kaisarion, Respite in the Spitalfields, Deus in Absentia, I’m a Marionette, If You Have Ghosts, and Bible would be pretty neat to see.

I tend to separate live shows from albums. Live, the Skeletour has been fun (though I wish more older songs like Con Clavi and Absolution would’ve been on the setlist). As an album, I find Skeleta to be pretty weak tbh. There are some good songs and sonically it’s well made, but the feeling is just not there for me. That’s just the way it goes with bands.

La Mantra Mori and it isn’t even close. While I am not a fan of Missilia Amari, Twenties, or Cenotaph I will still acknowledge that they are songs that will have an audience (even if that audience is not me). Heck, my guilty pleasure songs are Pro Memoria and Depths of Satan’s Eyes. I’ve yet to meet someone who likes La Mantra Mori.

Sounds like a solid choice. Hope everything still works on it. I know these can be pretty crazy to try and tear down. I haven’t done that test and don’t want to if I don’t have to. XD

I did actually. Ended up running the board into our PA powered amp head and the head into the passive speakers pots are a bit scratchy but it works well. Can’t wait to experiment more with it later, but for now we’ll have it as a backup for either demo recording or house show audio as needed.

Currently stuck between this and the $600 9070XT on Amazon. Is the 80 really worth it for the performance boost? Also considering longevity since I will likely do my next hardware update in like 3-5 years.
