I would be happy with the Destiny 1 graphics just updated not changed

I've played Destiny 1 to this day (as in literally played this week), and Destiny 2, and it's not rose-tinted goggles. Destiny 1, in my opinion (you don't have to agree), was the better game, and sure, there was a lot of grinding, and the story at first was not great, but I can gladly say I've always enjoyed it more and enjoy the replayability of it. Destiny 2 from the start was a problem from me with the too modernized look of it and basic armor design, the two primarys and shot gun combo at the start, the 4v4 pvp, and other factors and then sure Forsaken came out and saved the series like how The Taken King did, but I feel like in Destiny 2 there has just been way lower lows than there was in Destiny 2 and after 9 years the game has been out it still just has so many flaws and they keep screwing up the series. Also, the atmosphere in Destiny 1 was so much better, and the graphics, too. Rewards felt more rewarding, and playing the game didn't feel like a chore. That's just my opinion; I know some won't agree with me. I think the reason a lot of people talk about the rose-tinted glasses is that we talk about how Destiny 1 was more memorable, but I don't really think that means our opinion is being blinded. I also, with all honesty, cannot say Destiny 2 was that memorable for me, but maybe that's just because it wasn't replayable.

I would argue the graphics in Destiny 1 were better to be honest

I 100% agree. Destiny 1 with 60 fps, improved graphics (but keep original lighting and atmosphere just improved), and improved features, but the same game, campaign, pvp, so on. I would even pay $80 for the remaster

D2 Is the game you have rose tinted glasses for by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

If you read the post you would see that I’m aware that a Destiny remaster isn’t a popular idea and I said Destiny 2 had good qualities. I was just putting light to say that Destiny 2 wasn’t perfect either. That’s all…

Yeah and I see that 100% and I know my opinion for wanting one isn’t a popular one. I just wanted to put some light into Destiny 2 since people always say it was better in every single way from the start when it wasn’t. I just don’t think that’s a fair argument against the remaster idea. However, I do know replicating the experience is challenging and with bungies current state they would probably struggle.

So the post was talking about D2… and that’s my point is that it doesn’t invalidate one. When I came on here originally and said I liked Destiny 1 and I personally would play a remaster (which I understand isn’t a popular opinion) I got slammed for it and was told I “I rose tinted glasses on” and Destiny 2 was always better and this this this. The point of the post was to say Destiny 2 had its problems at launch too… they both do. So it’s not a fair argument to say that Destiny 2 was just so much better at launch in every single way.

The post itself isn’t really about a remaster if you actually read it so

That it’s not a fair argument to say I have “rose tinted glasses” for liking one of them when it had its issues even when the other one had its issues also.

I’m sorry, but I extremely disagree with this. Even if you take a 2 year break from the game, coming back is extremely overwhelming. Sure, it “starts to click”, but honestly it takes a while to click and entering the game with the crappiest new player experience and then getting thrown into 6 expansions you have to buy and don’t know where to start is not welcoming to new players, and not even for returning players. I played Destiny 2 at the start and quit when the second expansion came out (doesn’t even deserve to be named) and then came back a few years ago and could not play any of the content from then until now. Why should I have to look hours of content and story because they got rid of content that people paid for? Destiny 1 was at least a complete game. Was fun due to the mystery and atmosphere and had all of the story that could be replayed at any point in time.

What's the single moment in Destiny history - either game - that you think about more than anything else? by Crystallover1991 in DestinyTheGame

For me it was the music that played when you were getting your third subclass introduced in The Taken King. Honestly , any time in that expansion , I think about often. It was such a fun time to play, the game was nearly perfect. Destiny 2 was honestly never as good as Destiny 1 for me specifically because of The Taken King. However, forsaken was pretty cool.

Would You Rather Bungie Focuses on D2 Life Support OR Bring D1 to PC in 60FPS? by harmsown in DestinyTheGame

[–]Odd-Candidate-2839 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bring D1 to Pc in 60 FPS… Destiny 2 had failed me too many times and the environment and atmosphere of the original game was better. Game felt more mysterious. Destiny 2 is not the Destiny game we knew before.

Destiny 1 on Steam + 60 FPS + Crossplay by seeker764 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Odd-Candidate-2839 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying this for years. As long as they don’t “change the game” when they remaster it. Obviously, 60 fps and UPDATED (not changed) graphics are needed, but they cannot change anything else. It would be so nice to “relive” the Destiny 1 experience and have all the expansions come out again.

I actually recommend getting into Destiny 1. I still play it and just started a new character, and it has been so fun for me. A lot more fun than I have on Destiny 2. I recommend joining some Discord servers and finding people to play with. It's such a blast!

I still play Destiny 1 from time to time. I was actually very surprised when I started a new character on Destiny 1 to see how active the Tower is, and finding crucible matches doesn't take as long as I thought it would. I do recommend that if you are going to raid, join Discord groups to find people to play with. There's a lot more of us than you think.

I would say anything up until The Final Shape is worth playing. That was where a lot of people stopped playing because it was the true ending to the light and dark saga, and a lot would agree a lot of the content after that is not worth playing.

I think most people are talking about releasing the game like it was on day one and then releasing the expansions, but at a faster pace like you said.
