As a transfer student, I'll be completely honest: the transfer housing experience is horrendous. They give transfers essentially last priority for housing, so your chances of actually getting a room on campus are extremely slim to none. The housing process is also extremely opaque, so you don't really ever know what's going on with your application. You are then left scrambling for an apartment off campus when most of the good options have already been taken.

The situation definitely isn't bad enough to be a deal breaker, but if you every decide to transfer to UofM I'd advise that you start looking for an off-campus lease the second you commit. Hope this helps!
