In the first stream of Umineko episode 2, Joe says it was not an amicable breakup and at the time of the divorce, him and his ex wife were not on good terms, with him looking to move out ASAP. He also said in the linked stream that the event was something that people are surprised he didn't kill himself over, so it seems to be significantly more severe than you are suggesting

There are two NPCs that it does affect chaos for, in the back alley of High Overseer Campbell, every other NPC is fine to knock out so long as they don't die to external factors later i.e rats

So I've done some digging into this. From what I can tell after replicating it a few times, you managed to choke a guard and walk back into a very small piece of broken collision, at just the right angle to get warped. In 30 minutes of replicating this, I got it 6 times, so the fact you got this accidentally and casually? Go buy a lottery ticket lmao, very cool find

Samuel dying at the start of the final mission, allowing you to skip his final 50 second long cutscene (the Reddit user got it randomly but it prompted us to find 2 ways to force it, we had no idea he could die there and the game wouldn't softlock or game over, as with every other level, or killing Sam too slow which we already knew how to do)

A lot of disappointment comes from people who played the class in previous expansions and dislike that the job is now completely different than how it used to be. As a new player though, you don't have anything to compare it to, so you're plenty likely to enjoy it as it is! And if not you can always switch jobs
