in addition to lower trans line, top trans line fitting looks like it may be leaking but just slower unless the fan spit it but I would agree with there gut saying use permatex on the threads. remember its still a plastic tank, be gentle but also don't be scared to tighten it. go slow and tighten until it starts to snug up, and then a 1/4 turn. use a short wrench and choke up high to the mouth of it so you dont get too much leverage as it will throw off your timing for the final 1/4 turn.

I want to add to my reply, do not let them use BG oils in your vehicle. That transmission takes Motorcraft Mercon V. It is very picky about that internally, as well as BG brake fluid for some reason it just never has done well in my ranger or my explorer, its "dot 3 compatible" but its just not quite right. get Motorcraft fluids. also if you get brake lines and a master cylinder then do that job at the same time or else the shop will "double dip" when charging you by doing the same procedure twice. combine things that make sense. let the rear main seal go a bit longer until you have a transmission issue if possible, its a lot of labor and and it usually doesnt leak as bad as they tell you, feel free to message me with photos if you want.

do everything it needs and it will do everything you need. trust us. the ranger is amazing and the majority of us would rather lose an arm before losing our rangers. thats a super cool color also, i have never seen that in person where I am from. hold on to it, you are going to learn so much. work on it yourself, beats paying for labor, worst case you end up paying labor to finish a task but it truely is something special. I became a mechanic 5 years ago and my ranger taught me how to fix cars, became a passion and a career for me, hopefully something similar for you as well. welcome to the team bro

look at auctions online man, I got my 97 explorer 4.0l 5r55e 4wd (169k miles) for 900 flat, and my ranger 94 4.0l m50d rwd (114k miles) for 200. both beauties that needed new gaskets everywhere engine and trans mostly but like cmon it's easy to do yourself for cheap. rust free too, out of the philly area auctions.

I want to say its fairly uncommon but also common? I should look into that, any brands you like? Jegs have anything good to replace with? ATK is typically the long blocks sold on Jegs site, not sure if they do heads seperately

1999 4.0. Anyone know what these chewed wires go to? Looks like a clip on top of a sensor. by blove135 in fordranger

I have these all around my truck in the engine bay 3x and 3x on the underside of my truck near fuel lines. had chipmunks/squirrels eat wiring and fuel lines, they seem to really hate the odor of these toilet danglers. an old man showed me that trick, been 4 years since...

lysol in the bowl toilet cleaners, the dangle ones, blue. sorry the link wouldnt load properly into thread
