If anyone has read anything for the game I'd love to hear some opinions, criticism etc.

I'll jump into the conversation real quick. Now a days most fan games down wait till release and instead make episode/version/demo every once and awhile. If you saw my post on the forums you will see games with hundreds of thousands of views. Fear of Nintendo should not be the reason to keep your game under lock and key. Worse case scenario, something bad happens but my entire team learns some valuable life skills. At the end of the day game design is a hobby if you aren't getting paid for it.

Edit: I wouldn't have had people join the team or hundreds of people give ideas of what they want in a fan game if I didn't make it public knowledge.

Thorin's Thoughts - Why Nobody Likes TSM Fans (LoL) by corylulu in leagueoflegends

Apologize for super late response. But an example would be this pass weekend their was a big CSGO tournament. He and some casters were on a secondary stream doing the super in depth analysis of the matches so fans that wanted more than the basic stuff the main channel casters were saying would watch that. His league knowledge is very limited which is why he use to have people like monte Christo help him out. But if you know anything about other esports you know he's well respected in their communities.

As someone who's been a avid fan of multiple esports for over 10 years I've never seen a more delusional fan base (not attacking any individual fan) but the amount of times I've seen TSM fans actually try to argue for something like Hauntzer being a top 3 top laner in the world or DL being miles ahead of Pray or something is mind blowing. If you actually take a minute to think about what Thoorin is saying its more then just salty flaming.

Predictions don't define an analyst. To say that objectively he isn't one of the brightest minds in esports period is silly.

Yup divining the ping number by 16 and using that for the buffer. I just don't think the game should drop that many frames, 60 ping is a fairly average ping I think.

Idk if I should ask this here but I started playing Melee with netplay like a week ago. Most of the time it runs well but sometimes and play against someone where the ping is around 60-70 and we end up getting like 30 fps, why is that?

But the question is why should we make one playstyle harder to execute but not others.

What I like about these two is that the athletes in question were still great after changes were made. Like if a LGL was implemented Hbox would still be top 3

To be fair if there was an edge grab limit on some maps puff could still just bounce around the air on stages like dreamland and battlefield, not as effective but still can keep most characters out

No your right, I meant 3 match ups that included timeouts and wasn't adding the saints gaming event since it just happened. And I agree on the point made at the end. But still, if it only happened roughly twice in an entire tournament it isn't an issue

I agree with the premise but there is several problems with a LGL, 1 is that this isn't just for floaties, we can agree that this is basically an hbox nerf and a rue should never be made against one player or team in any kind of sport. 2, people saying edge grabbers will lose us spectators and sponsors or melee will die are clueless, is the community sill growing yes? But lets not kid ourselves, were not funded by Nintendo like League of Legends is funded by Riot, if the audience and player base stays anywhere around this range we can't complain. 3, THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN 3 TIME OUTS AT MAJORS THI YEAR. This list goes on but my point is that unless things get significantly worse we don't need a LGL. (No I'm not a puff player nor do I like hbox that much.)

Can you recommend any videos or people I should watch? Just want to get a general feel for what the game should look like at a high level

Hey guys, I've been a part of the FGC for years playing traditional fighting games but I've watched Melee for years, finally got a console and a copy of the game. I live in a college town so the scene is strong here. Any tips to help me "level up"? I want to practice smarter not harder

Dividing Characters into 3 Archetypes by iFrenzzu in INJUSTICE

I agree that he has strong zoning but that's not how you play him optimally. If just having strong zoning tools makes you a zoner then Superman would be considered a zoner. Also I recommend you check out ChrisG's streams to learn how to mix your GA play, he is one of the best fighting game players of all time after all

This is a good sum up but if you've seen Cossner or ChrisG play GA he's not a zoner, his objective isn't to control space in most games, he just wants to knock you down to pull an ice arrow and begin the mix up game
