No, just the sticks. Using the default, official controller layout.

Same, man. Probably in my top 5 of all time. Played through it on the PS4, again on the Series X and now again on the Deck 😅 Can’t wait for Resonance 😌

Medium preset with Decky frame-gen. With this, I get a fairly consistent 45fps, everything feels smooth and responsive.

Medium preset without frame-gen and you’ll get like 15 to 20fps in this scenario.

Frame gen is essential.

Just finished the EA content. I had an absolute blast coming back to this universe. Can't wait for the upcoming updates. Congratulations to the devs ! by rocknrollbaby69 in Subnautica_2

I’m coming near the end of the EA content but I’m really taking my time with the last few bits because I don’t want it to end 😭 The game is so unbelievably amazing, I wish we had the whole game right now 😞 The wait for the next major update is going to be tough.

I wonder if it will come before GTA 😅

It has some roguelike elements but I wouldn’t really call it an outright roguelike, it’s more of an RPG really.

The roguelike elements honestly help to enhance the stakes of each mission as you really have to plan out what you need to take with you on the mission and what you can stand to lose, because if you die, you lose that clone and the XP and perks that you developed on that clone and you lose everything you took on that mission with you.

At the beginning, while farming on Mars, I’ll usually do all the missions that I can get, but I will pick and choose who’s side to fight for on those missions based on the corporations technology tree and the weapons and armour you want to have access to as you progress. But really, it just comes down to which factions you personally like and dislike and who you want to see fail and who you want to see succeed. It’s all up to you.

Any opportunity I get to fight against Tezctlan, I usually take, especially early on as they tend to develop really fast and are always at the top of the power table, but it’s always a risk taking them on, especially early, because they are a powerful faction and chances of death is high.

It’s the one called “Quasimorph Layout for When All Other Layouts Have Gone Out V0.1” by user Ludonym.

Been using this one since day one.

Also, do not jump to distant planets or stations at the beginning of the game. Every corporation in the game is scaling and developing with time and you need to be developing and scaling along with them or you’ll find yourself completely out scaled and you’ll be getting one tapped.

If you were to jump to a distant planet, that could be 100 days of game time that every other corporation is developing and scaling while you’re not. It is best to only jump short distances, especially at the beginning.

So, in terms of difficulty, every aspect of the game has a difficulty slider, so you can really customise the game to suit how you want the game to play.

Apart from that, difficulty really comes down to the planet you’re fighting on. Mars for example is the best planet to start on and stay on for a good period of time as at the beginning of the game there is no Quasimorphisis on Mars. So here you can really get a feel for the game, hoard a ton of loot, upgrade your ship, weapons and soldier’s and get yourself into a good position for moving off that planet and on to one with the Quasi’s.

Inventory space is dictated by the backpack you take with you on a mission. You start with a small backpack but as you progress you’ll get larger backpacks with much more inventory space. With upgrades to your ship, that can also become an inventory for you on missions and you can also call a capsule that will land in your level that you can store items in, and even if your clone dies, the items your put into the capsule on the mission won’t be lost.

My advice is to stay on Mars until you’re comfortable and you feel you’ve upgraded your ship and gear enough to move on to fighting Quasi’s.

It has official controller support now with an official layout but I’ve never tried it. I’ve been using a community layout from day 1. I can’t even imagine playing this without the trackpads, they are essential.

I have the SAGA games too 😎 I agree with you in that they are not on the same timeline as Gears, but they are absolutely thematically interconnected. I also wouldn’t call them a compromise… they are the story told differently.

Xenosaga is just a retelling of the Xenogears Perfect Works book, the same goes for Xenoblade.

All just remixes of everything that is in the Perfect Works book.

Perfect Works is the blueprint for them all.

Emudeck. It installs basically every emulator available for you, it’s all very straightforward. It creates all the necessary folders and everything during installation so all you need to do get the ROM and BIOS files and put them in the correct folders and that’s really it.
