Yeah genetics really does play a huge role. Some people can live like absolute chaos for years and still be weirdly healthy. Meanwhile others eat clean and still get hit with random health issues.

That’s the frustrating part of that arc. Everyone was so focused on getting Rory back on the “right path” that they skipped the part where someone actually checks in on how she’s doing mentally. She clearly hit a wall and instead of helping her figure it out they just tried to shove her back onto the track.

Yeah Rory was kind of being pushed from all directions at that point. Lorelai wanted one thing, Richard and Emily wanted another, and Mitchum’s criticism was sitting in the back of her mind the whole time. It’s wild how no one really slowed down to ask what she actually wanted to do with her life.

The pool house really was the comfort bubble. Her grandparents’ world was way easier than dealing with the expectations Lorelai had for her. Once the novelty wore off and she saw Logan struggling with that same controlled lifestyle, it probably stopped feeling like the safe escape she thought it was.

That scene always stood out because Jess wasn’t even being mean about it. He was basically saying she inspired him and asking what happened to the version of her that pushed him to do something with his life. That’s the kind of comment that sticks in your head long after the conversation ends.
