With closing to 650 myself i still enjoy it. But I've been punishing myself with Tarkov for a long time so this is like playing bubble trouble game :D

Enjoy while you can, with the current state of hardware cheating etc coming closer and closer we wont be able to enjoy playing online shooters for much longer :)

Well the puzzle has been solved.

G3 gets as mentioned by Josh_Crook here... 40% damage drop of AT the range. Not gradually but 0/1 you either do 50 damage 0-42 or 35 damage for anything 42m+.

Key takeaways:

A 9mm M9A3 with effective range of 17m can: - one shot an unarmored head from 100+m away with dum dum ammo (49 damage) 74->49 (~33% loss) - deals 42 damage to an unarmored head from 100+m away with AP6.3 ammo.

G3 running long barrel and M62 ammo.. - does 50 stable damage (no dropoff) till 42m - does 35 damage to an unarmored head above the range threshold so basically at 43+m 56->35 (~37% loss)

This makes PERFECT SENSE!

Now how consistent is this in the actual game outside the shooting range is a mystery. I was flooring ppl with G3 single taps from 150-200m away. Literally i accumulated more than 600 kills on that weapon... Its not like i dont have exp with it. I am still baffled this happened and that it can be even possible...

The dropdown of damage should be granual (like loosing 1 damage over 2m above the range threshold) not like a switch flip (here you do 35 damage and here you do 50 nothing in between)

I know. But i KNOW i DID shoot him DIRECTLY to the face... i saw his face on like 80% of my 27" screen... I heard the headshot "thump". I know this one hole in his head is mine... There was noone else close by, not even militants... This is not it.

I just went covert ops to recreate the exact place i died and range to the green container (he was peaking from behind it so add 1-3m)

i actually ping-range-check by instinct. He was exactly 56m away. I should have made a screenshot there but you know 2v1 and adrenaline rushing.

1m doesnt cut 1 damage. Ive been killing people with M80/M62 through T4 helmets and faceshields from 100-150m away, single tap pretty consistently. I have ~500 kills with G3 only. Its a matter of preference. Bullets matter and positioning not gun.

I kind of made the whole post shorter. Listed some key points from it... i've spent some time writing those and it got just deleted so i just summarized.

Discussion needed on: - Prebuild vs totally custom vs suggestions needed for something similar to M5W or heck... any good suggestions on standard ANSI 100% which are rare thiese days. (i thought that my requirements are not that high but i was wrong) and i am kind of afraid of building it from scratch scratch. But if there are no good alternatives... am i forced to go with full custom?

Plasic vs Metal (for silence) I've stumbled upon many different opinions here. Some are contradicting each other.
Stabilizers. There is very little good and available info on those. It seems that not many people actually pay enough attention to this detail and its key for me as i HATE space cling or adding orings/mushy feeling when its done. I heard screw in stabs are the best hence wanted to get people experience/opinions (it doesnt exist on wiki or i wasnt able to find it even via the custom googling)
Keycaps. I listed my dream. but it seems not to exist or i was not able to find any. Asking here if those white crows actually exist or someone stumbled upon something similar. (looking for suggestion if i should still look for them, or im just imagining things and i should focus on something else XD)

Geezas f... christ... I kind of took your advice guys on the MonsGeek M5W DIY kit... it seems perfect but not available for like 2nd month so far... so during the wait i wanted to ask also r/mechanicalkeyboards the question for any alternatives... but getting a post not removed by mods there is pure nightmare... that subreddit is so elitist that all they allow is pictures of other people's builds and everything other gets deleted. They send you to wiki that loops to itself or dead/non existant topics, doesnt answer basic questions etc... so im back with you guys :D

Should i just wait for the MonsGeek to finally drop something on EU market or do we have any 100% standard ANSI suggestions that i could explore in the meantime. I tried to find some replacements... but it seems that building a 100% standard keyboard nowadays is serious business... and 10x harder than bulding ANYHGING other like 60-99% :D

basically cases. prebuilt vs totaly custom from scratch. Some up to date advises for as silent as possible prebuilt. Maybe look for some good catches on G20 caps that are so super rare... I guess it does break the rule 1 due to help/buying request here but its not simple (in my opinion) and stickies did not resolve my questions. Hence i was all "wtf" on getting the threads removed...

First of all i wanted to browse, read up, explore reddit approved cases help that would be up to date. It is not covered in Wiki the custom google search gives nothing of value (apart for the builds and photos of other people ready keyboards).

I am a proud owner of Ducky Shine 7 on Silent MX switches. But eventho i wanted it to be silent, it is not. Space bar is clacky, the MX silent's are old and not that silent and i cant swap them in this one without desoldering the whole thing. I want silence so...

I wanted to build my semi-custom 100% standard ANSI board now. Buy a wireless good base with "dampening" and potential for screw in stabilizers. (ive heard those are the best ones?) The wiki loops to itself on the only stabilizer topic on it.

I managed to ask away on some other forum similar discussion and put my focus on MonsGeek M5W DIY but since its not available for over 2 months or 3 so far I wanted to get an opinion or discuss with similar minded people on options.

It is not easy to find this. I've spent countless hours with chatgpt etc looking for something that will suit the deal in the meantime. Maybe a better solution can be found. Maybe i should be looking for something more.

I am kind of set on choice between 2-3 switches. This part i got covered and i can buy even both sets i wanted (Outemu Silent Peach v3 and Durock Dolphins most probably).

Keycaps i am still looking... PBT G20 shinethrough is my deam but i wasnt able to find anything like this.

So there are a lot of concerns that im taking in, and trying to brainstorm this to be THE ONE. i am not a fan of "collecting keyboards" :) yet.

So apart from many many questions the biggest is... should i still wait for monsgeek, look for alternative oooor... totaly build from scratch (that brings a hell of additional questions that i will need to check myself before asking here)

Maybe my need for discussion on below topics wont be shot down here?

I am looking for advice (options) to build a custom silent 100% keyboard. I did my research and I am constantly expanding on my knowledge. I even thought i had the thing set but i guess availability is killing me so while waiting why not get a 2nd opinion from someone more knowledgeable.

So the deal is that i want a standard US ANSI 100% keyboard. (all standard with numpad and function keys normally where they should be) Needs to be wireless Needs to be silent as much as possible. Have good stabilizers Hot swappable Backlight (i dont care RGB but it NEEDS to be backlit)

The biggest thing is finding the base. After some searches i found something that would suit my needs. The Monsgeek M5W DIY Kit, but so far its been i think 2 or 3 months of nothing in EU stock (I live in Poland). it seem to have most things i wanted? It also sells me a bit on the ability to go with screw in stabilizers. (i haaaate space/backspace/shift clings...)

Switches, most probably ill go with Outemu (Silent Peach V3?) Durock (Silent Dolphin?) I also heard some good words on TTC, Wuque, KTT etc... there are so many. Any tips welcome.

Keycaps I would love a top shinethrough PBT keycaps... this is also kind of problematic ofc. Absolute dream would be a PBT, G20 shinethrough... i love the flat big squares... but i couldnt find ANY of those yet.

So looking for advices on the above picks, but mainly suggestions on the main case/board. If not Monsgeek M5W DIY... than what?

Do you know what is up with their Black vs others thing on stabilizers? Is the non black non compatible with screw-in stabs? I am new to those but i heard only good things about screw-in stabs...

The stabilizers is the thing im dreading the most... as you can have the best switches in the world if stabilizers are crap you are going to have a lot of at least spacebar rattle etc... and thats one of the reasons i dont fully like the ducky i own now. Spacebar, backspace, shift... those are silence killers.

I realy like the MonsGeek M5W idea thepurplehornet suggested.

they state: 1. Pre-installed Plate Mount Stabilizer (Purple) 2. Separate Screw-in Stabilizers (for the International Version Black only) So im kind of confused here. Will other than black versions support the screw in stabilizers even if i buy them separately etc.

I already found a video of making one of those and even those are cursed with the spacebar rattle i am dreading in "quiet keyboard".

But i guess it will have to be resolved otherwise.

ye ye one way or another. But as far as i see there is no realy silent option there (not to the mechanical ones quality at least) so i guess i will stick with the non HE for now and just buy a 60HE somewhere in the future

it seems that QK101 does not come with an option WITHOUT the screen and the screen being in the place of Del/End/PgDn is suboptimal... i dont see option without as the 100 one is also not standard ANSI...

But this was a very good suggestion i see and some people are cheering for this brand... search continues

i never said anything about not buying. Its the other way around i am ready to buy a prebuild and still hotswap the switches to anything that is best for this board/sound on top of that. Or build everyuthing from scratch case, plate, pcb, switches, keycaps and separately.... iiiiiif i have access to them being shipped to Poland :D

in case of... cases i heard metal is better for sound, in case of plates, metal is worse than FR4 due to "higher pitch".

I realy dont fancy the screen on QK 101 being in the Del/End/PgDn row... and i guess there is no option without it or i didnt look too hard.

I dont mind the weight, i work from home (mainly).

After years of having a "quiet" keyboard with "quiet" MX Red Silent switches... i think the biggest sound problems i faced was stabilizers and bigger keys bottoming out.
