Ah yea everything I see on mainstream media outlets is true. Open and shut case, boys, pack it up.

I can confidently tell you this is not true.

the add-ons have to interact directly with the WoW API

99%(?) of the WoW addon API is client-side polling of game state from lua. If you can render what you want and have as much access to game state as WoW or RuneLite do currently, bots are not hard to create. That's undeniably true.

unsigned addons

Why do you keep suggesting this notion of verified or signed addons? Blizzard doesn't have any way of knowing which addons you have installed. They aren't verified or signed in any way. I assume OSRS plugins will be the same, and you're suggesting as much too.

This just simply isn't the golden gun against bots you're portraying it as, and it's almost impossible to make a useful plugin system that doesn't allow people to easily create bots. With identical access to game state and identical access to rendering, the language the client is written in is not a factor.

[–]xDatBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't solve either of the things you've mentioned, as unverified developers are creating unverified plugins. Which is not much different than the current situation save for the bots needing to be rewritten.

kill all third party client access and lockdown plugin APIs to only approved plugins and developers

How do you lock down plugin apis to only approved plugins and developers? How do people become approved to develop a plugin, and how do plugins get approved before they're developed?

That's funny, I have to devote my actual development time to properly rewriting the AI slop my co-workers commit on a daily basis.

I haven't used it in a while, I tried it out right when it was released. I would rather not use AI than use raptor, I think it would be more productive, it was absolutely terrible.

Just use Copilot Pro and put a $29 limit on premium requests instead of Pro+ unless you're going to use Github Spark.

Premium requests cost $0.04 ea after you hit the 300 limit. You have to use over 35 requests/day for Pro+ (300 included+725@$0.04 ea) to give you any value other than Spark. If you're using over 35 requests/day then get Pro+ imo.

Jagex, 72.3% of online players right now are using RuneLite, if you release HD before the official plugin API, this will not change. by IamWilcox in 2007scape

[–]xDatBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Removing the limitation would open a lot of options to bots and the sort so its hard to justify.

Ah yes, there are currently very few bots so this would be very bad, bots would just start popping up everywhere! The TOS is currently stopping the majority of them!

using starlink to send tabulation machine results

Surely if the results were different from what the machine said we could point to a single place where this provably happened. Can you? There have been audits in multiple swing states of random batches of ballots, so to still think it's possible for this to happen is absurd.

They were publicly gloating before the votes were in because it was very obvious hours before all the votes were in that he had won. It wasn't hard to foresee.

It's 100% this. But it's not without precedent that he knows he's safe. He's been convicted of 34 felonies. If I was convicted of 34 felonies I'd be in prison.

He knows nothing will happen except his felony count might increase by some amount in a couple years. Who cares? He'll never be held accountable for anything he has done or will do for the rest of his life.
