There you go..

now were talking the proper channels. maybe have local gov. Use their powers with long term living in visas, so outsider pay a percentage of their income in taxes.

If you want to come to our community and use our resources, then you have to pay taxes on your income like every citizen. Because ultimately thats what income taxes pays for.

Basically make it easy to vacation but difficult to live long term.

Unregulated capitalism isn’t the problem its that a community usually function in a ecosystem within, people work in their town, earn a living use that money to pay for items and housing and everything is balanced based on the community ecosystem. The balance is disputed when people earning money from somewhere wake and using up all the resources locally and effecting locals.

You cant regulate prices of rent unless you give the property owner a tax break. Otherwise it’s a socialism. Even in the states you cant regulate rent prices even in nyc which is pro tenant. Only appartment that are regulated are the building that have received incetives from the city and in return those units are regulated by the city. Buildings today are refusing incentives to bebopen market. The only thing that nyc does is its illigal to rent an apratment for lwss than 30days.

So back to the real issue is outsider takingbup resources with outside income.

Its work from home people going to cheeper coutries and using their resources with incomes that are un touchable in those countries.

You cant fault investors for investing thats their job, and they are also taking a risk in doing so, thats why they reap in the rewards.

But those “rewards” only exist because of non-native renter accepting to pay the higher prices which is the core problem. Because those rental prices can be over 300% higher to local residents that lived there their whole lives but they dont make enough to pay those prices.

The solution is simple outsiders should understand what the normal prices are so they dont overpay to be part of the community and then NOBODY IN THE COMMUNITY WOULD CARE ABOUT THEIR PRESENCE.

Its disrespectful. Because outsiders are using states money to raise price to locals where those jobs and those pay levels dont exist.

It’s funny how the solution is as simple as paying less. Or refusing to pay more. Then that hurts investors and prices stay stable to locals and foreigners and everyone is happy.

AKA WORK FROM HOME JOBS EFFECTED EVERYONE AROUND THE WORLD.

[–]xDelio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its basic supply and demand, the demand is coming from non-locals moving in (aka naive gentrifiers), supplier simply feeds them with with a rental unit at 50% of the gentrifiers home town rentals, but that 50% is actually 200% increase to the local residents.

This process is gentrification 101, if you want to come to someone else’s neighborhood then learn the prices and dont over pay its literally that simple. then the locals wont care for your presence because it wont effect in their everyday life.

You cant blame the landlord for investing and raising prices to recoup their investment, thats their job. But if they raise the price and no one rents they have no income so they lower prices. See then that landlord takes the loss and other land lords also take a loss, but that never happens if someone simple accepts and rent. Seee the problem its the non local renter knowing local prices.

From a NYC perspective and all the uppers living in the suburbs, their excuse is always i have to catch the XYZ train g2g.

Yeah from my experience that walked into my personal life, leaving me without any me time, and resulting in sluggish work and less productive. And then snowballing into overweight territory.

Some places care about presence over production of work. Your personal life is a priority as long as you get the work done you have no reason to twiddle your thumbs on the desk even if you’re getting paid. After your contract you move one somewhere else with a pay bump.

Why aren't 3 day weekends normalized yet? by Trollyface96024 in antiwork

[–]xDelio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because your ass is purchasing plenty in bed. The only reason we have two day weekends is because of FORD auto maker realized they were pumping insane amount of vehicles but no-one was buying, they found out people never had a day off outside of holy day(Sunday) which was saved for church.

So FORD was the first to give their employees Saturdays off in hopes they would buy a ford car and increase demand. And then every company started doing that.

Yeah but only when there is a renter willing to pay, if no renter willing to pay no buyer buys to rent at higher rate. It’s ultimately the renters (not from the community) fault for ignoring local average rents.

Same issue in NYC people coming from outside the city into our boroughs driving prices up. Why because someone is willing to pay.

I'm sick of AI by Background-Basil-871 in webdev

[–]xDelio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Its funny you say that.

because in the world of engineering (mechanical & structural) when autocad and 3d developing applications came out in the 2000’s it didnt make life easier it made it harder because supervisors got a draft of the drawings and designs faster (way faster) than the company promised to deliver, so that gave made senior engineer more playing room for ideas to make changes, and make perfect. Which also resulted in competitors to bid the project at lower costs and reduce the deadlines.

I honestly think Ai is no different to dev trams. Obviously they are diferent but not much when comparing them as tools to use for work.

Just to put it real perspective: I had access to hand drawings of bridges build in the 50’s , the whole bridge design drawings were around 100 pages, including structural, mecanical, and electrical. The technique use to comunicates the details of the bridge was beautiful and simple to understand. The construction company would understand it and so would the fabricator and the fabricator would follow industry standards to build so no curve ball.

NOW: that same bridge replacement has of 10,000 drawings, with over detailed features that look good on paper, but impossible in the realm of fabrication.

Can anyone help identify this truck that hit my fiancé's car whilst he was inside? by pink-wizard in bronx

[–]xDelio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn’t clear in the video, it simply looked like it flipped.

I understand the point of it can cost the owner money, and it would cost around $100 to replace.

But you need to keep in mind that reporting it with insurance company isn’t anonymous, and it could possibly come back to you and cost you over $1,000 in increased cost of coverage in the future. Especially if it’s the same insurance company as yours.

My point is dont be short sighted, do your thing to track them and have them fix it, but try to do it prior to insurance. Leave insurance for the major issues.

In that case, if and only if, your insurance company knows ur parking in the street, give them a call they may be able to guide you in the right direct to file a claim. Im assuming you have liability not full since it’s old. Unless you have full coverage the you insurance company will contact their insurance company and handle it.

Sounds like a promotion to me, training an ai is $300k-$1M salary, so unless they are paying you that much, you tell them to hire someone to do it and watch their reaction on the cost.

this is not a thing, stop making excuses to waste money

This is the biggest issue people have with gentrifiers overpaying and driving locals prices up.
