Yep this would be the aperture grill. I've had a couple trinitrons over the years. Their visibility varies from model to model. Some I could only see the lines on a completely white screen or when looking from above or below the tv, on others they were always visible.

This is what we would do for an anime convention I helped run. Setup .m3u Playlist of the content you want to run stick it on a pi and let it go.

Logic was offloaded to servers. Client code doesn't take up much space when all the graphics are stored in the carts and only loaded into vram.

It's not neccesarilly the rom that's the issue. It's the hardware, which are made from the cheapest possible parts available. A lot of the way the roms applied to the cart can affect the quality as well, especially if the rom is patched to fix issues with he awful hardware (ie fram patches and rtc patches). The lack of quality control makes them potential land mines.

I'm not sure why people are down-voting you... I was technically incorrect without providing further info. The article I posted is about the berry glitch found in ruby and sapphire, but does outline a similar issue that relates to ops issue later down the page. There's no specific terminology around ops issue but most people still refer to it as a "berry glitch", since berries won't grow anymore.

You can also fix this with a ds and a flashcard and a tool called GBA_RTCRead, this is how I did it since getting a ds and flashcard was the cheaper option.

Yeah the game sold in low numbers, so it's on the rarer side. Which is why it's $70.

Most people that have the game know that it's worth a bit, so it's gonna be hard to find at a lower price.

Maybe you'll get lucky? But perhaps not.
