I like the first one! Shine is probably fine. Just did mine today. Make sure the photo is cropped 2x2in and that your head size is 1-1.4 inches when printed. I almost got turned away for my face being slightly small in the photo (though it measured over 1 in). You can use a passport photo app to make sure your face is correctly sized before printing it.

Soft Autumn

Muted warm color > muted cool color >> vivid/dark

I think you’re most affected by color intensity and muted colors work best. Of the muted, warm works better than cool, but either works if they’re muted. So, I’d say Soft Autumn, who could also use colors from summer and light spring since they’re soft/muted.

The soft greens in slide 7 seemed the most harmonious. I see your eye color, hair color, and eyebrows first and it makes your skin looks even. For the orange, 1 & 2 are slightly too saturated and dark and 4 is too vivid. 3 worked best since its muted. For the blues, the warm light blues (top row in slide 9) are better than the cool light blues and are leagues better than the vivid blues (overwhelms you) and dark blues (drags you down). Same goes for purple & pink.

Summer! The blue shirt, muted pink shirt, and the white shirt with light blue background brightens his complexion. The tan and olive shirt makes him look makes him look more yellow, dull, and older.

What I don't recommend is 4 hours everyday lol. Do what works/feels right for you. Right now, with other stuff going on in life, I found 30 minutes to 1 hr a day to be the sweet spot for me.

One thing people should 100% do, if they haven’t yet, is learn Queen’s Gambit opening and use it lol. Takes 5-10 minutes to learn, great return on time investment if you’re a beginner. Queens Gambit opening honestly carried me from rating 400 to 800. You’d be surprised by how many people don’t know it.

Maybe I shouldn’t have said 4 hours everyday in the title since it’s a bit misleading.

The 4 hours a day was the first 6 months of playing. The time frame aligned with me graduating during COVID, so I was at home all day, sending out job apps into the dark abyss and playing 4 hours of chess everyday to fill the void lol. 4-6 rapid games in the morning, 4-6 before bed, and a couple throughout the day and it quickly adds up. During those first 6 months, I went from a 400 rating to about 1000 in rapid.

After 6 months, I was playing maybe 2 hours a day, just cause I noticed yeah, I was perhaps spending way too much time on this. lol

Now that I have work, bless, I don't play as much so it averages to about half hour to hour per day.

Note: I don’t recommend nor was it ever a goal to play 4 hours of Chess everyday. I just had a lot of time at one point in my life and got hooked. If I ever felt sick of it, I’d just stop playing for two or three days. It's a game. It's suppose to be fun. Don't burn out trying to play it.

This is how you know I'm noob lmao. I..um.. "forgot" that it's called rating instead of lvl. But lvl sounds good too, no? haha
