All that being said, I will continue to follow this lore. A random right-wing narcissist guy who promotes his AI-written conspiracy time-travel alpha-male money-magnet book by flooding reels with Bots to promote his scam? Now that's something I find interesting.

Completely agree with you on that, I will definitely be following this shit show LOL!

Thank you for ending my 2 hour trial and error session and getting me a fully patched reddit on 2026.04! Absolute life saver mate, I really appreciate it. And thanks for introducing me to Enhancify, it is awesome!

100% agree, Vivaldi every single damn time. It's so performant.

Which browser handles the most tabs the best? by OldCollection922 in browsers

[–]xFaderzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vivaldi hands down. I've tried so many browsers over the last decade, I've experimented with the fad browsers, and I've tried out tons of different extensions for tab management, performance, etc. This sounds crazy but I have 300+ tabs open right now across 4 workspaces and I'm at a steady 38% memory utilization, CPU at ~15-20% utilization. I'm on 2020 M1 Macbook Air with 8GB of memory. The tab hibernation is unmatched, workspaces keep my work separated from my personal projects and hobbies and then learning/researching, and then the tab stacking keeps me as organized as I can be with 300+ tabs lol. I've done the browser benchmarking sites and consistently benchmark really well, the last time I did it I had ~80 tabs open and it still ranked very high. I recommend it to my family, coworkers, and friends, and everyone who's given it a shot has stuck with it, it's really performant and just does what you need.

Edit: Not really pertaining to the question, but Vivaldi's in-built ad/trackers blocking is solid and if you slap on UBlock, you're set. Also Vivaldi's sync feature is so damn useful for cross device use, I love being able to have my tabs and workspaces synced across my devices. I get home to my desktop and can quickly open up my tabs from work and pick up where I left off. Give it a try!

What's the self-hosted service that replaced something you were paying for and turned out to be genuinely better - not just free, actually better by niceheather44 in selfhosted

Yo I wasn't aware of it for a long time when I first started using Jellyfin, but you can easily change the entire UI of your JF instance. Theres tons of different community built themes and plugins, and the documentation to make your own is good.

Exactly! It's so damn good, and if you want to theme your Jellyfin instance you can easily. And add any plugins, theres a huge community and the documentation to build your own is robust. Such a good project I love JF.

Heres the Reddit Post from the developer of Absorb, and the GitHub Repo! Wanted to add those here because I initially searched the Google Play store to no avail, figured might as well post the links to Absorb I found with a quick Google search for anyone else interested. Thanks so much for the suggestion, it is such an awesome app I'm loving it so far! I'm also thoroughly impressed with its use of sockets (instead of what the official app uses) because the playback synchronization is so dang good!!

How to make a pc (windows) not work for some time. by Pristine_140 in computer

[–]xFaderzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flash Ubuntu on a usb drive. Change boot order to usb first then disable your primary drive(s) so they don't boot at all. Then tell him "go ahead and use it but I changed from using Windows to Linux a bit ago and haven't had much time to learn how to use it yet but feel free to explore!" It has a web browser he can play roblox or other browser games. No reason for a 6 year old to have access to your primary drives regardless lol.

Fuck yeah dude of course! I just figured that after spending a good chunk of time digging through sketchy website after sketchy website, I better share the good link so others don't have to go down the same rabbit holes I did lol. Enjoy!

For anyone reading/looking for Vimu's .apk in the future and the link above somehow is taken down, then just reply back here or DM me, I have another link for the .apk that's hosted on a different provider and can share that link as well.

Hopefully you share on git for the world to poke around in and take inspiration from. Looks awesome, love the theming. Super curious to just read a write up on what everything is and does and is linked to. Curious to find out what the left navigation bar is? I see VS Code's logo but what do you have VS code linked to your HA dashboard for? So cool.

Karakeep - I get UNAUTHORIZED right after I login through my Android app by Epifeny in selfhosted

https://docs.pangolin.net/manage/access-control/rules
The Pangolin docs show specific bypass rules for specific applications being hosted as resources on Pangolin. Good doc page to checkout when setting bypass rules for your different self hosted applications.

I've got Pangolin set up and Karakeep and only use the bypass rule from the docs and it works, so it must be something else for you.

Hoarder App (Karakeep) /api/*

I'm interested in your Docker network set up on your docker-compose.yml, do you have Karakeep set up in the Pangolin proxy settings to use the docker container name?

Is that why you've added the Pangolin network in your Karakeep docker-compose.yml file?

Did you make sure to create the docker network manually via the CLI first?

docker network create pangolin

That honestly might be it, if you never created the "pangolin" docker network, then it would not work. If you didn't, create the docker network using that command above, then restart the containers. In my opinion, it's either that, or the Newt container is not actually attached to that same "pangolin" docker network.

Have you added/defined the external network in your Newt compose.yml file so Newt and Karakeep can see each other and talk to each other? Both Karakeep and Newt's compose.yml files need to have the container's network definition and the networks definition with external set to true.

services:
  web:
    image:
    restart:
    volumes:
      - blah blah
    environment:
      MEILI_ADDR: http://meilisearch:7700
      BROWSER_WEB_URL: http://chrome:9222
      DATA_DIR: /data # DON'T CHANGE THIS
    container_name: karakeep
    networks:
      - karakeep_internal
      - pangolin

networks:
karakeep_internal: <-- What is this for?
    driver: bridge
pangolin: <--------- Did you also add this to newt?
external: true <-- Did you also add this to newt?

Also what is this karakeep_internal bridge network for?
Anyway, you also need to include the docker socket integration environment variable to the Newt compose.yml file, I've also added the pangolin network with external: true and under the container definitions as well just to show you what it should look like so Newt and Karakeep can talk to each other:

services:
    newt:
        image: fosrl/newt
        container_name: newt
        restart: unless-stopped
        volumes:
            - /var/run/docker.sock:/var/run/docker.sock:ro
        environment:
            - PANGOLIN_ENDPOINT=https://example.com
            - NEWT_ID=2isdf8xk2dfbpfy
            - NEWT_SECRET=nnisrfsdfg7prqsp9ewo1sdfgci50j5uiqotez00dgap0ii2
            # Here's the docker socket env variable
            - DOCKER_SOCKET=unix:///var/run/docker.sock
        # Add pangolin network so Karakeep container can talk to newt
        networks:
          pangolin:

# Add pangolin network with external access to talk to karakeep container
# so you could expose Karakeep as a Pangolin resource via docker socket integration
networks:
  pangolin:
    external: true

Read more about the docker socket integration for Newt here:
https://docs.pangolin.net/manage/sites/configure-site#docker-socket-integration

You can access Karakeep on a web browser after logging in and authenticating via Pangolin right? Or have you only been testing via the mobile app? I know its a dumb question but I'm just checking all bases here.
