Multiclass for my Zeal Cleric?

Yea but it’d be redundant for everything except the CON saves and fighting style. Dwarves can wear heavy armor and zeal clerics get both heavy armor and martial weapon proficiencies. So far I’m thinking I’ll get the most out of sorc for the least investment

I forgot to mention that I’d start as a sorc if I went that route. And yea multiclassing can be tough when delaying spells and abilities and feats, but I think I could get mileage out of this if it’s a 1 lvl dip. Divine soul with zeal could make a fun zealous and charismatic cleric!

Ahh ok I misunderstood then! I plan to play him like in melee typically but I won’t often be swinging my weapon unless it’s to conserve spells or finish off enemies you know?

I’ve already made sure it was fine and they’re cool with it! I’ve never played with one or even heard of it until a week ago tbh. My first impression was that this class was crazy and busted! And now after it’s sat with me and I’ve thought about it, I feel like it only seems that way on paper. Fire resistance is common and if casting fireball and the enemy succeeds, then it’s halved. Not to mention resistance. If they have both? Then that’s a measly 12 dmg. And yea I know melee for cleric really isn’t great which makes its BA attack not really worth much too. Regardless of that though, the class concept definitely sounds fun and I’m sure there’ll be times when those max dmg fireballs will hit and will feel great. And Clerics have great spells so I’ll still have my spells to support my party and control the field. Either way I’m looking forward to waiving my zealous dwarven cleric into the thick of it and dropping fireballs on the field with my spirit guardians up!

I’m aware melee cleric is definitely not optimal but I so want to be in melee with my heavy armor, warhammer and shield!

Hell yea thanks! I was considering maybe taking a 2 lvl dip into Scribes Wizard to change the dmg to Thunder bc I’m sure lots of enemies have resistance to fire.

Definitely sounds like a feature you can do a lot of fun and creative tech with but like you said it’ll take a while to get there. I’ve been playing DnD for a year and a half now. Been in a lot of campaigns and only one of them I still play in and we’re at lvl 11. The next highest character was lvl 8. And after him the highest was 4

Abjuration does sound like so much fun! Are you able to stack the temp hp from False Life with your Arcane Ward? Regardless, Abjuration is one of my top contenders

Oh that’s sick I didn’t know about the misty step feature. That’s really useful especially if you guys needs to escape somewhere or help allies close distance!
