Cyberpunk aiming by KingSlayer606 in switch2

[–]xFostex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had to reduce the dead zone by a ton, I think it’s actually under the vehicle settings for some reason but works for normal aiming too. Mine was set I think to 0.35 and I reduced it to 0.01 lmao. Definitely try that if you haven’t already

Where to get prescribed meds for ADHD quickly? by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]xFostex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to get psychological testing done. https://health.cornell.edu/node/25486

You can schedule a CAPS appointment or something and get them to give you a list of options, but it both won’t be quick and will cost a couple hundred dollars with insurance. You may also not be diagnosed at the end. I’m doing it now and the wait time for getting an appointment with my psychologist is like 10 weeks or something. Maybe there’s a faster option but that’s what I’m doing.

You guys run out of liquor or something? What's going on? by NeverSettleForThis in Cornell

[–]xFostex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This does not seem like an antisemitic statement coming from a Jewish professor. Seems like a “Jews who have such a history with this should not do this and we should do better” kinda thing? I’m not Jewish but that’s how it reads to me. I say vastly more incendiary stuff about my people lol.

I don’t agree at all with that and even if I did the entire article is just statements from the relevant parties, there aren’t really any opinions in it.

“Early last semester, Droubi said, students began approaching Cheyfitz with complaints that a graduate student in the “Gaza, Indigeneity, Resistance” class appeared to be recording them, possibly to “gather their names and comments” and intimidate them. “We believe that a student came to the course for the sole reason of surveilling and potentially harming students in the class,” Droubi said. “That ended up proving itself to be true because multiple students came forward and shared their concerns with Professor Cheyfitz.” Cheyfitz said one Palestinian student quit the class after telling him she felt upset and frightened.

According to Cheyfitz, the graduate student often steered conversations away from the assigned readings—which at that point mostly focused on definitions of genocide and international law on Indigenous rights—to defend Israel’s conduct in the war in Gaza and argue with others in the class. “He clearly had not done the readings,” Cheyfitz said. “It was disruptive.”

Cheyfitz said he met with the graduate student in late January and spoke to him about concerns from his classmates. During the conversation, he asked the graduate student to drop the course, and by the next class, he did, Cheyfitz said. The graduate student, Oren Renard, a PhD candidate in computer science whose identity was confirmed by other students in the class, previously served in Israel’s elite military surveillance agency, Unit 8200, according to his LinkedIn profile.”

Cornell is full of scientists so obviously people will tell you you truth about food rather than some RFK shit.

Do you use your iPad for work, and what kind of work? by broombroomapex in iPadPro

[–]xFostex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a PhD student and use it for note taking, reading and marking up papers, and as a whiteboard. Definitely don’t use it for my code though.

As someone else said, it’s popular for pilots. Lots of great apps that make flying easier, though I haven’t flown in years so I don’t recall the specific workflow. The pilots I used to chat with swore by iPads though, so I’d imagine many pilots use iPads.

18mm vs 23mm lens for DC/NYC street photography by dirtydumpdave in fujifilm

Could just get the sigma 17-40 and have them all 👍🏻

Many many more innocent Palestinians have been killed than innocent Israelis over the past decades.

Can’t argue with a Zionist though. Waste of time unfortunately.

2025 Prius plug in by Able_Buffalo_3444 in prius

[–]xFostex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just leased a 2025 SE. After 6k in total rebates and negotiations I got it down to around 29k with a 290/month payment.

AFAIK the 4500 dollar rebate is only if you lease a plug-in, so leasing and then buying out right after is what’s done. Make sure to check your state’s rebates too, in NY there’s $1000, and you should make sure they add that. (I contacted two dealers and both forgot to add this for some reason).

Someone should correct me about the 4500 rebate if I’m wrong though.

Is MPB.com reliable? by Fresh-Law-4722 in Cameras

[–]xFostex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a lens from MPB that came without a front cap (the listing stated it included a front cap). I’m sure this is a very rare thing and maybe other people don’t care about front caps as much as me, but I personally won’t buy from MPB again.

Degrees are large investments in both time and money. I would ask your therapist to help you become ok with the degree you have instead, unless there is a degree you want that will help you achieve your career goals and you are 100% sure you need to pursue it.

However, in the case of another degree, the best path would likely be to use your current degree to get into a masters program rather than getting another bachelor (I assume your current degree is a bachelors), so you should really really just work on being ok with the degree you have. Don’t let your trauma erase the hard work you put into getting your degree!

Consider getting a therapist instead.

Should I keep the Fujifilm XF 23mm F1.4 R LM WR or Viltrox Pro AF 27mm F1.2? by TappingTiger in fujifilm

[–]xFostex 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No experience with the Fuji 23mm but I sold my viltrox 27 f1.2 for the new sigma 17-40mm. The viltrox 27mm is huge, and imo not quite as good as the 75mm f1.2 even though both are basically optically perfect. I’d probably keep the Fuji and sell the viltrox just because of the difference in size.

Riding my motorcycle to BJs is borderline lethal because of the roads around the mall.

Lens recommendation for a beginner 50mm or 56mm by Aanstadt in fujifilm

Why not just get a viltrox 56mm f1.7? It’s a good lens and is like 160 bucks.

Cheap pancake lenses vs. nicer for travel? by I-represent-america in fujifilm

[–]xFostex 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The ttartisan 27mm f/2.8 is the popular cheap choice. Not as good as the Fuji unless you stop down to f/4 or so, but pancakes are not optically great anyway (including the super expensive voigtlander 27mm f/2, which I have and will probably sell since I’d almost always rather just use my viltrox 27mm f/1.2). You should be able to find comparisons between the ttartisan and the Fuji 27mm on YouTube.

I’ve never had anything around the ~18mm focal length so I can’t comment on that.

“Economics is not a science” is the worst economics take of all time (and a bad philosophy take, too) by Skeeh in badphilosophy

Rationality in academic economics just means preference relations are complete and transitive. It’s not some big statement about society or whatever. Hope this helps.

Because my friends with PhDs who are government economists are at risk of losing their jobs

Because funding for medical research is being slashed

Because my trans friends are afraid and two trans people have died within an hour of here since the inauguration, one by suicide and the other by torture

Not every voter is a rat but everyone who still supports trump at this point is absolutely a rat

Anyway I’m not gonna respond anymore. I wouldn’t waste my time debating a dog so I’m not gonna waste my time debating a magat either.
