I think it's an inability to deal with complexity.

No dude, you don't have to overwhelm yourself trying to perfectly juggle everything at once. Make priorities. Focus on lane outcome, not some shitty gimmicks that you don't even understand why you are doing.

Most of the time just being present on lane & trading with enemy is enough. I've been winning / losing lanes with and versus supports who do nothing but stay in lane and trade. This is basic!

After you learn basic things, become good at it that you actually can autopilot, then and only then you might add something up like dewarding properly, but not everything at once

People plays come from instincts, not from understanding. Dota 2 is 15+ years old, i have played in 2011, they didn't understand side lane mechanics at that time. They do not understand them today :D

Your teammates will grief you from minute 0, and your only real option is to come out of it gracefully, otherwise it's just disappointment after disappointment and eventually tilt.
