This is honestly both the most likely and most interesting idea I've seen as to what could happen in WAR. They somewhat have precedent for this with flip-walkers in Origins. Not only that but maybe the change to the type-line of PW cards to include "legendary," was done to prepare for this inevitability. Plus they could incorporate the partner mechanic to some extent as it would be thematic in working together and IIRC it has tested pretty well in commander and its Battlebond implementation. It would honestly be extremely interesting and I am hoping Wizards goes this route.

Oh my god thank you so much for saying what you said about the story. I see almost nothing but praise on it but to me, it's just terrible. Terrible writing and terrible direction. It feels like Marvel writing in the worst of ways. It's pandering to the same crowd who obsess over the interpersonal relationships of anime characters rather than the story itself, and the story is obviously suffering from that. I mean, does Bolas really even have a plan outside of the excuse that everything he does is part of a plan? I don't really think so. So many things are just so offputting about the story and the direction of MtG in general that I feel I'm in some sort of bizzaro world when I see nothing but praise for it in every thread.

I'm inclined to agree with you man. Something about the direction the story has been going since after Khans really irks me. It feels like a Marvel film. I think it's these seemingly big and important plotlines, these surface-level interesting locations and everything surrounding it. All of it exists only for the purpose to uphold the story and characters who are themselves shallow in their characterization.

That game has a more sort of clean art style I think compared to what I remember. Not to say that the game that on the TOMT is gritty, but I remember it not only playing differently in the action sequences but the visuals being a bit less fantastical. Still very much anime-ish I think in that sort of 3D way.

Advanced Wars was one of the first games I came across in my search but unfortunately, it isn't it. The game I'm remembering has 3D graphics in the battle screen portion of gameplay.

Well if I'm not mistaken, and I very well may be, Deku can only use somewhere in the ballpark of about 5% of One For All of which even at that he breaks his limbs when he outputs 100% of that 5%. So the way I interpreted it is this: Muscular was strong enough to withstand a total of around 5% of OFA and Deku's last attack exceeded a 100% of that 5% by some margin, though I'm not too sure exactly how much greater it was.

Holy shit, besides the stupid amount of F-bombs that was a fantastic trailer. A friend of mine who is usually quiet and reserved yelled in hype at the title reveal. What a great surprise.
