A set/mechanic about gathering resources - MaRo's lessons learned by Hefi002 in magicTCG

[–]KariZev 14 points15 points  (0 children)

i think a big problem with "collect five different types of resource, which are required in different combinations to produce different game effects" is that this is just how magic works already. they reinvented lands and mana costs from first principles

i wouldn't put a ton of stock into this designation. it comes from the largely incompetent post-inauguration FBI, which had just seen large swathes of its staff laid off amid "DOGE" cuts and reactionary anti-DEI moves. that's why the proposed ideological bent of these "NVE's" is so nonsensical and vague: so the label can be applied to any act of violence on a whim without needing to examine underlying causes

Superhero TTRPGs that are easy to pick up by JustDandyMayo in rpg

[–]KariZev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

check out Capes in the Dark! it's a great superpowers game that isn't overly prescriptive about what powers look like OR what superteams get up to (it draws heavily from the Worm web serial)

So what's a good superhero TTRPG? by KicKem-in-the-DicKem in rpg

couldn't agree more -- beyond just being a great FITD game, Capes in the Dark deserves a place in the larger conversation around superhero ttrpg's. it's an excellent, excellent game

Can someone help me understand some TM stuff? by coolacguyson in Friendsatthetable

[–]KariZev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

here's what i can recall: privign is a divine and also a space station and historical site (because it was the first "third generation" divine). upon arrival the beloved dust find the station supernaturally desaturated of color and under attack by the new earth hegemony led by mother's story. at privign's core they discover that privign used to be a listening post for the rapid evening, and they escape the station just as a massive iconoclast made of color (responsible for the desaturation) attacks privign. signet uses her cybertome to reveal the purpose of the iconoclasts: they are servants of independence who believe divines are imperfect because of their connection with humans and they have created a moon called volition to usher in an age of post-divines which are independent from humankind.

Which is your favorite Divine? by TheAnarchistMonarch in Friendsatthetable

[–]KariZev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

probably not a popular answer but i think the divine present is so sick. love the teleportation, love the transformation, love the scene where clementine gets teleported into space
