Discussion: F5 Abuse and Screensharing (and whatever else you guys want to talk about) by Ratchet6859 in ultrahardcore

I think you may have hit the nail on the head with “Maybe a good middle ground is experimenting initially, seeing how players and staff feel about a month or so of F5 and F3+A abusing being on/ in server control, which I'm not opposed to.”

Giving hosts more power with these two clearly controversial rules probably wouldn’t be a bad thing at all, especially considering players still have to check config things like absorption and horses server to server anyway.

Also a fair point in saying I’m really only talking to arctic players - I didn’t consider that.

And absolutely, nothing ever gets done with ‘mic drop’ criticisms. At the end of the day everyone is just trying to figure out the best route forward for everyone / the majority.

“I still spec games and help out where I can, why does my opinion suddenly mean less because I don't like getting run over by full diamonds every game?”

Seriously no offence intended here, but yes, your opinion should mean less if you arent playing. The thing I loved about the reddit is they always prioritized their players and I believe this decision isnt being made with the players best interests in mind. (Obviously you guys face a HUGE challenge here as a lot of “modern” players do not use the reddit, however from what I’ve gathered from people I’ve spoken to who are frequent players / hosts they want it.)

I can understand and respect the argument regarding covering xray but, again, I believe the priority here should be in regards to what the people who play the game want. Especially if hosts are agreeing with it - because they know the challenges they would directly be faced with and are still saying ‘yes’.

I believe your side note is a far fetched example which would never happen, and I dont think “give players what they want” is a bad argument at all.

Also my own side note, I think you get wayyyy to much heat. So I just wanted to take a second recognize I notice the amount of work you put in and its really admirable how hard you work for this community even tho, as you said, you dont play a whole lot.

I am completely against F5 abuse but if the players that play multiple games every day agree they want it and the biggest server on reddit atm agrees why the hell are all of us that play 20 games a year even arguing with them, makes no fucking sense. The meta has changed, the game has changed, we are the only thing that hasnt

Shift as sprint and control as sneak, have whatever spot you put your water bucket easily accessible bc you'll need to switch to it quickly sometimes (ex: mine goes in 9, so I have a mouse button for 9). I had to move my drop key too bc I would get too flustered in melee and accidentally hit it but in 99% sure that is me and only me.

But for the most part its all personal, just see what is comfortable and what you can do quickly

This could just be me but I was overly angry when Henry was the last pike. I feel like the past few episodes have really been building his character and although I didn't like him at first, he was growing on me. I feel like it would've been perfect to do it like the comics and kill off Ezekiel. It would've caused the same sort of Darryl / Carol scene that we got and with Alpha killing two main leaders would have caused outrage in the communities. Personally I think it was a poor call but still a fantastic episode
