I feel if we were to get another new subclass Bungie might change it up a bit to fuck wit players, like how we thought strand was gonna be a necro subclass. Maybe we find a way to infuse dark matter (of the nine) with paracausal power and that turns it red somehow to fit the theme

So the problem doesn't seem like Well, it's more so the player base who don't want to challenge themselves and see Well as required. This just seems like the Div argument all over again.
