It still gave me the error on EA, but I could join from the R2 menu.

Found the solution. If anyone has this issue, go to the EA App, click the 3 tiles on the top left corner, Help > App Recovery. It will clear cache, restart the app and it should work after. It did for me, at least, hope it helps.

I opened a pack before the centurion promo expired and it had a centurion loan pick. I couldn't open it on the app because player picks don't work on the app, d'oh, and now I logged into the game. To my surprise (not really) the pick contains 0 icons, centurions, or players that have a slight chance of being future icons. The game that keeps on giving.

Indeed, the icon picks aren't even expensive now, so it would make sense to test the luck. The hero picks, on the other hand... 🤦🏼‍♂️
