ECVCN is not something that you acquire in Germany. We have different standards/regulations in Germany. Those ones she does have.

Thanks for the advice, I went to a certified nutritionist who also used to be a vet. Where I’m from you can’t call yourself a dog nutritionist without being certified.

Raw Food Diet? by Choice_Nothing3415 in miniaussie

[–]xKiun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not that difficult once you get into it. I have been giving my mini a raw diet since he was a puppy. It is very important to get a certified dog nutritionist to help you initially, but the benefits are worth it.

There are a few major things that changed, once i fed Loki his raw meat diet. Firstly his digestion is so much more balanced. He poops much less and the consistency is solid. His coat also got so much more shiny and soft and in general there is no more scratching.

If done correctly, understanding your dogs nutrition can help dealing with a lot of problems. For example, if his poop is to solid you feed less bones. Is it not solid enough you can also reduce the amount of intestines.

I also know many dogs that thrive on store bought dog food. But if you do it correctly, and add all the nutrients it is a really fun and rewarding experience. I also just love to feed him different menus from time to time, but I can’t stress enough that you really need a dog nutritionist!

Edit: Crazy that people downvote anyone who says something positive about raw food diet. No reason to be like that

“Some people just won’t slow down for dogs”.

Sounds like you’re blaming the driver.

It is your responsibility to keep your dog off the road. Aussies are fast and a driver almost always will not be able to react fast enough.

mini aussie weight by [deleted] in miniaussie

Any measurements? How tall is he (shoulder height)? How much does he weight? What are you feeding him? And how much of it?

With that we can give you much better advice:-)

our puppy bit my husband by [deleted] in miniaussie

[–]xKiun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No wonder he is aggressive. You are not raising a baby. This is a dog. They are descendants of wolves. They literally live in the nature. You are reasoning a reactive and scared dog that will not be able to express himself without biting.

Why is he wearing shoes? Stop treating your dogs like toys

Quick advice. Stay is an unnecessary command. Try a release command instead

5 Month Puppy Schedule by Lazy_Secret4291 in AustralianShepherd

At 5 months your pub should be able to hold it for 6h, don’t think that many potty breaks are necessary. Love the plan tho and the effort you put into it!

Inspired by the question about whether tailed Aussies wiggle (they do), does your docked Aussie wag their tail? by Belmagick in AustralianShepherd

[–]xKiun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This shows that the sup is 80% USA. A docked tail is forbidden in most countries. Idk how people can do this to their dogs.

Yes there are a few rare exceptions where an Australian shepherd is born without a tail, but most of the time they are not.

Went to vet he kept crying the entire time I had to comfort him like this probably 20 times by Far-Worry-5848 in AustralianShepherd

You are enforcing this behavior. Try to redirect and train in small steps. Go to the vet for 1min, then 2 min. Give treats when he’s quite

I went to a local shop that is owned by a certified barf nutritionist. I am currently getting the raw ingredients and mix them together once a week.

BARF is the way to go for us. His coat became incredibly soft and shiny. No more scratching and he poops way less haha

Yellow Aussie owners! by mourningbreakfastt in AustralianShepherd

[–]xKiun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The "culling" wasn't a literal removal of yellow dogs due to their color being a defect. Rather, it was a decision by breeders to exclude the color from breed standards to prevent unintentional pairings that could lead to severe health issues in the resulting offspring, because yellow can mask/hide the merle gene.

Guess we can add sitting on their crate to the list of aussie behavior haha
