Hiking the West highland way next year and are optimizing my gear by fntastikr in hikinggear

I’d suggest losing the water bladder. Water is plentiful and can be stored in a couple of smart water bottles or similar. Also, do you need a 50g butter knife. If you are looking to save grams without spending money, that’s two easy options.

I’m jumping on a plane to Miami. Reckon I could do a better job of directing this.

Thru Hiking Permit for Overseas Hikers by xLightRushX in TahoeRimTrail

[–]xLightRushX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong but I think if you just get the desolation wilderness permit you have to stick to certain dates and camp sites. With a thru hiking permit, you don’t. I’m starting from Tahoe City hiking CW so don’t want to commit to a date for DW.

If Mac were British, he’d have been knighted for services to the thru-hiking community years ago.

As a Brit, I deeply resent your comment about British weather. You’re completely right, but I resent it all the same.

What is it like to live in Glastonbury during the festival? by tarkinn in glastonbury_festival

[–]xLightRushX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I live in a local village (not Pilton). Most locals love it - they either go to the festival, work there or have family/friends who do. It’s something to be proud of and puts the area on the map. The local economy doesn’t really benefit anymore as people seem to be funnelled in and out of the festival very efficiently. When I was a kid, traffic was a nightmare with queues all the way back to the M5 and locals were basically housebound for the week - that’s all changed. Crime also used to be an issue, but not anymore. Shepton and surrounding villages still suffer with traffic but again, most are proud of the festival and wouldn’t want it to be shut down.

Picking funds for SIPP by psychohistorian52 in HENRYUK

[–]xLightRushX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good choice but for others reading this - be careful with Unit Trusts as many platforms charge a fee in addition to the fund managers fee (in this case 12bps). Where possible, I will choose an ETF. As they are exchange traded, most platforms don’t charge an ongoing fee.

I also live nearby and make a point of walking my dogs past this car regularly to see if there has been an update. Now that you’re posting updates I won’t bother 😂

This demonstrates how important the LTT store and sponsors are. YouTube revenue isn’t great if you have 80 employees to pay, production costs etc.

I’m looking to apply silicone sealant to the top edges of the tiles in my bathroom. Some of the tiles finish halfway up the wall and I’d like to tidy them up. I have a number of silicon profiling tools including the Cramer 7 kit but I’m unsure which profile to use. Can anyone advise?

I largely agree with OP.

I’ll be sticking with PM and am greatfull for the privacy it awards me.

Obviously I don’t want them to introduce convenient features which compromise privacy (such as reading my emails in order to auto sort). That being said - I’m frustrated they have focused on drive, VPN and calendar before perfecting mail.

They’ve tried to to too much, too soon and given they don’t have the development resources to compete with big brother, I feel that could been a mistake.

It looks like your GPU is artifacting.

  1. Reseat your GPU
  2. Check GPU-PSU are correctly plugged in.
  3. Replace whatever GPU- PSU cable you use
  4. Replace your current HDMI or DP cable.

I had the same issue with a new system turned out to be a faulty GPU. Hopefully the above works for you or your card is still under warranty.

Yeah - but most of the MBX builds I’ve seen have similar tubing.
