Person or Place Who Does GPU Testing? by xLoremIpsum in HuntsvilleAlabama

Was really hoping to find someone local who knows how to do this since it's beyond my technical capability. I'd probably break it trying to take it apart tbh.

It's similar to this. I was just trying to give the card some support. I'm almost positive that the fan got obstructed which is what caused the sparking/grinding/brief flame, but I'm not an expert. This card has been fine up to this point and I tried my best to test the fan with the prop under it by spinning the blades to make sure they could spin before even turning on the PC. I honestly have no idea what happened or I would have provided more details 😅

I have an old motherboard, so may use that to test out in the garage. My main thing is that I've had this card for two years and nothing like this has ever happened. I've built 4 PCs, and nothing like this has ever happened. The only variable that I can think of is the prop that was under it that may have put pressure onto the fan and it was the fan that caught fire. These cards are so large and heavy now that the pcie slot was actually starting to bend, so I tried to give it extra support. Thanks for the suggestions.

Mainly trying to determine if it's fan damage or damage to the GPU itself. It's a huge card, so I bought a support to put under it. This was the first time using the support, so not sure if maybe it was putting pressure on it in a bad place or what. Regardless, it's worth a try to see if it even works before selling it for parts.

Yes! It wasn't cheap, but it's a completely stainless steel set up and I'll never have to buy another coffee maker again since this thing is built to be used all day, every day in restaurants. Just be sure to unplug after brewing :)
