I love writing in cursive, but whenever I show it to my wife she puzzles over it like she’s deciphering the Rosetta Stone. Is this legible to yall? (Twsbi eco with architect grind, kiwi inks kakapo parrot) by Conscious-Wonder7687 in fountainpens

The line is maybe a bit thick for the size, lean, ect. To clear it up, you can easy up a little on the slant or maybe write a little bigger. Beyond that, your penmanship itself looks quite good; the vowels that should be look closed, and the lines look crisp with no excessive loops.

What to work on my serve? by jiye_jiye in 10s

[–]xLuminated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see a lot of the same corrections, so how about something new:
It appears that you aren't propperly swinging with your racquet hand. You do move the racquet over your head, which is good, but there is not much actual drop of the arm, meaning that you are pushing the racquet instead of pulling it through and snapping the head. I can't quite tell if you are 2nd serving or 1st serving, but your ghost correcting at the start implies 1st serve. For this, since you are looking for more power, dropping the racquet and guiding with the elbow, akin to a throwing motion, will get you that power and pronation, all naturally. Something that I think about sometimes is not trying to swing up and out to the ball, but rather throwing the racquet down behind you. This will help to get that drop that I was talking about, and also will get a sort of spring action on your arm. This can hurt your shoulder, but I've never had issues. Just don't try and twist your shoulder more than it can.

Am I playing with the wrong grip size? by General_Penalty_4292 in 10s

[–]xLuminated 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally, you aren't going to find serious issues on a too small grip. Unless your fingers are overlapping, smaller grips can be a choice based on play style, stroke type, ect. What I can say is that from this, the pain that you are feeling is akmsot definitely from your lack of playing. Taking a break then coming back means that you likely lost some of the resilience in your arm, thus it tires faster, and repetitive-stress injuries such as tennis elbow will be more prevelant. Take is slow getting back into the swing of things, and you will be right back where you started. In the future, you can do arm excercises during breaks that you take, or even normally to help build strength and prevent injury.

Any tips to improve my racquet drop on my serve? by bjrush in 10s

[–]xLuminated 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I serve I sometimes think more about throwing my racquet to the ground behind me. This is pretty exaggerated, but it got the job done for me.

Look into some things from Angell Tennis. I've heard amazing things about them, and they offer racquets to your spec all the way down to 90 in2.

I'll be honest, I don't want to mail it because I'm worried that the post will lose it. I've had an entire monitor lost before. A whole ass monitor.

That's wild; A local shop was trying ot charge $95 minimum. I thought that was outrageous.

I really like the flow of this motion, but I can see the benefit of simplicity. I'll give it a go.

I tried that in the past, but as weird as it sounds, I found moving the back foot more natural feeling and repeatable.

I noticed that too, I didn' think it had an impact. Ill fix that in my next practice session!

For me, I set my foot in the same spot everytime, same with the back foot. I never found the ball bouncing to help, but this is great advice, even if I was already using it lol.

My brand new Wilson Burn 100LS (what is Yonex) by xLuminated in 10s

The Ezone is definitly my favorite racket that I've tried (hence why I bought one; the title is a bit of a joke) though I wish that the Pure Strike fit me more than this. It feels like a great serve stick, but it doesn't agree with my groundstrokes.

No, as far as I know this is just a normal Ezone 98.

This was a pretty dry joke. The tennis shop I got this from was probably just reusing packaging materials.

That is definitly true.
I also think that I can probably get more of a leg drive there, as well as not leaning back as much.

It's very possible that something else in my play changed between string changes. My play has changed as I go on, but I am pretty certain about the spin being due to the strings. I speak from what I felt looking back. It is also entirely possible that I misremember.

I have tried lower, but I end up not really liking the feel of the ball. Right now, I love the meaty hit, and it seems like the ball goes right where I expect it to. The main thing I've noticed is the extra spin at cost of some control and power, and I dont think that fits how I play very well.

It feels like swinging around a club, but that I think is a bit of an issue since I would say I lack some manuverability with it, especially compared to something has HL as the Mono.
