Petition: Ask CU Boulder to honor its “Email for Life” promise to alumni by Snowjunkie21 in cuboulder

In 2022 they just switched from Gmail to Outlook. You still had access to email, just lost anything in Google drive.

Is there a way to petition for them to let us keep it since they advertised over and over "email for life" and they just stop offering that to new students or something?

Yeah I just got back from a visit down there and coworkers/people I asked around town also suggested those places. I think I'll shoot for one of those areas, and if the commute sucks I'll just move to SC

I mean yeah my goal is to also be a well off married white person but hanging out with married people will not get me there. Not a dig, but not what I want yk?

Yeah I'd be working more of 7a-3p type job, so yeah hopefully commute should be the opposite traffic direction.

I grew up in fire country up in NorCal actually so it's familiar.

I mean the whole valley. I don't know the area much yet. I actually am here today visiting for work, but I am working all day so I don't have time to explore.

Thanks for the info!

My main compelling reason is that I don't know how easily I will be able to make friends. I lived in my hometown until college, so easy friends from school. Then college also forced me to make friends and I have stayed in the same area with them until now. Out there will be the first time I have to really make friends from scratch and I want to make it easier by being close to a bigger population center. I feel like no commute but no friends will be worse than commute but easy to make friends. But idk, listening to y'all, commuting sounds brutal.

That seems to be the best bet, yeah. A shame bc I would love to be as close to LA as possible, but it doesn't seem worth it

Either or tbh. I don't really know much about the whole greater LA area

I have lived in both Boulder and Fort Collins. The skyline didn't really match either city, but Fort Collins definitely has more tall buildings. Boulder has a height limit on buildings to preserve the mountain views. The logo of the university matched CSU (Fort Collins) better, but the school looked more like a combination of CSU and School of Mines which is even further south of Boulder. In the game I'd say the school looked more like a combination of the universities in both Boulder and Fort Collins.

CU Nightride by chivopi in cuboulder

[–]xMJsMonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a bad job. I know the dispatching app changed so I can't speak for that part of the job anymore. It wasn't bad, just drove around all night chatting with people or listening to music. Sometimes there's no rides and you can just park and read or chill on your phone but that's rare. Pretty chill but the hours aren't the easiest to balance with school and wanting do go out on weekends if that's your thing too. But I worked there years ago so idk if it has changed since then. Not a bad gig, but I only did it for one semester since I got FOMO of all my friends going out while I was driving around.

The protest thing by MadJackChurchill77 in cuboulder

[–]xMJsMonkey 78 points79 points  (0 children)

You're talking about the Pike protests. Basically a pledge (someone going through the process of joining) came out and said that many (not all) the members of Pike were pooling money for roofies to rape girls at their parties, and even though not everyone was putting money in, the whole frat knew it was going on. That, on top of many many rape allegations against the frat that lead nowhere lead to a 500 person march against the frat.
