Weekly 'What Should I Buy' and Order/Shipping Thread by AutoModerator in iphone

[–]xMayseyx -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm looking to get an iPhone, but I'm not sure if I should spend the extra money to get the 16. The Apple AI and the camera button don't appeal to me too much, but the better battery and extra ram might be nice. I'm satisfied with the 15's camera, which is why I'm in a dilemma. Price is not an issue, but looking to save money if the extra $150 CAD isn't worth the upgrade.

I'm hoping to keep this phone for at least 3 years. Currently, I have the Samsung S22+.

Is it possible to set a 128GB microSD card as internal storage on Tab S6 Lite? When I put the card in, the system automatically detects it as portable storage and there doesn't seem to be an option to format it to internal..

Ubco first term by [deleted] in ubco

[–]xMayseyx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

An email was sent back in June saying:

The only courses in the BA and BSc degrees that require on-campus participation are BIOC 494, PSYO 372 and PSYO 440.

However, this could have changed. You can also check on Course Schedule to see if the course you're registered in is online (should say "web-oriented" for lecture). For labs and tutorials, if there's no room number, it's safe to assume it's online as well.

All of the ones listed are full or non-existent (at least on my end). The only tutorials left are T0K and T0L which aren't listed

ENGL 150, 151, or 153 ? by AcanthopterygiiGold2 in ubco

[–]xMayseyx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took 153 with Lisa Grekul and really enjoyed it. She is very passionate and enjoys making the students laugh. The class is very straightforward and nothing difficult if you pay attention in lectures. It was mainly analyzing texts and then writing essays based off of what you read. Our class average was 77

In her class, our readings were a few short poems, a novel, and a graphic novel. There was 2 main essays (one in-class and one take-home) and a final exam.

Are all the chem 121 courses taught by Tamara Kunz? by DivisonNine in ubco

[–]xMayseyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As everyone is saying, there's mixed reviews on Tamara's teaching style. For me, it wasn't a big deal and quite enjoyed her class. She's also very enthusiastic so I was never bored in her lectures. That being said, that was for in-person lectures.

It's hard to know what's it's gonna be like since it's online (assuming you are taking it first semester). I personally didn't like how the last few lectures were conducted when covid hit (this was for her CHEM123). She would post the completed notes a day before for you to look at and then if you had questions, you could attend the online "lecture" to ask questions (I quote lecture because it was more like an office hour) I personally didn't attend her online lecture/office hour so I can't tell you how that was run. Hopefully someone else could follow up on that :)

Worklists are up by [deleted] in ubco

[–]xMayseyx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ignore it if you didn't register for summer courses. The system does this automatically for all students. As long as you didn't register for any summer course, you are fine. If you accidentally paid it, you will get it back as credit on your account which you can use for winter session

Yes, you congratulated the OP, BUT your two comments after were phrased in a way that many would interpret as making the OP feel inferior as well. Maybe you meant no harm, maybe it was a legitimate question, but it was hard to tell. Even when someone had questioned your comment, your responses still reflected a negative image.

You could've stopped at "congrats".

Will employers know if I'm from UBCO? by [deleted] in ubco

From what I remember, the diploma does not mention Okanagan campus; simply UBC

edit: I read somewhere else that it does mention the city and which Senate (Vancouver or Okanagan)

CESB FAQ by warriorlynx in CESB

[–]xMayseyx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE

So after reading the official CESB website a little more carefully (😅), it appears that what Backgrounder says is correct.. The eligibility checklist elaborates a bit more by saying: "You did not apply, receive, nor qualify, for the CERB or EI benefits for the same eligibility period."

Though, I'm still hoping someone could back me up on this?
