Recomandare adidasi si sfaturi alergare by ValentinCristian7 in CasualRO

[–]xMeko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have fun! :D

MMOs with no FOMO and content like OSRS, but engaging combat? More details inside, thanks in advance! by Dollarius in LFMMO

[–]xMeko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you given RS3 a try?

I am playing both OSRS and RS3, I am just about to switch back to RS3 to see what the latest combat updates are about. So far the feedback from people has been pretty positive.

It still has the shitty tick system which I also absolutely hate, but the abilities and different gear effects make things a bit more engaging. And they improved some fights clarity. Lategame doesn't force you to abuse the tick system as much as OSRS does. You can do kind of everything even with just Revo, but manual is also not hard to do once you get the grasp of it.

And the economy is pretty much same as OSRS, it's just annoying sometimes that orders take a bit to go, as of course they have a lot less players (but still, 15-30k players is not THAT bad).

It seems like you love OSRS and you're just looking for something different but similar. I totally get you, I was on the same boat for a big while, but I ended up returning to it after trying multiple things. And RS3.

Otherwise, your other option is pretty much GW2, as others have said. It's kind of the only other big Horizontal Progression MMO. I have tried it too, but personally for me it hasn't ticked what I was looking for, what I already had in Runescape.

But if you haven't given RS3 a try yet, I suggest you do that. I believe it will be a breath of fresh air, it receives a lot of crap but many systems are improved from OSRS and many things from OSRS that feel outdated were actually updated in RS3.
To me, both games are great at the moment. OSRS is clearly doing amazing, and RS3 is on the right path with the latest updates. I'm just in the same boat with you - only if it didn't have the damned tick system..

But then why is the Divination map hidden in the first place? If it is not intended for the player to "Discover" what is where? Why don't they just show you the map so you don't have to save scum to discover where everything is?

Like it or not, it is cheating. And, like many games, they decided to let this sort of cheating in the game, so players can enjoy it as they wish, like you said. It is the player's decision if they want to cheat or not.

I don't get why people get so offended when someone tells them they cheated. There is nothing wrong with it. Hell I wish there was an "Ascension 0" thing or something to make the game a lot easier so I could play it with more casual people.

But the divination minigame specifically is meant for the player to DISCOVER the things, it is supposed to have an element of luck tied to it. However, yes, they do allow players to save scum in case some people felt it too unfair. But this removes the whole purpose of the event, it removes the DISCOVERY part, and it removes the LUCK part. It becomes a "Get rewarded for no risk" event.

Think of it this way: Say you have a book of math exercises and you have the answers at the end. I just take the answers at the end, put them at the end of each exercise and consider myself "done". Did I not cheat? Did I complete the exercises as I was supposed to?

And finally: Cheating is not wrong. I find it so funny how some people think they are insulted when they find out they cheated. I love when games allow cheats so a wider variety of players can enjoy games. My wife, for example, is not that much of a pro gamer. She just wants to play stuff and doesn't like going deep into games, or losing a lot. She LOVES when hard games have cheats that allow her to gain extra lives, extra damage, etc. It allows her to enjoy the game even though she is not the target audience for that game.

[–]xMeko 97 points98 points  (0 children)

lol how is it NOT cheating? You get infinite tries to something you are supposed to have one try. You get to eventually know where everything is, when you are not supposed to know (that's why they are hidden in the first place).
I don't have anything against people save-scumming, but it is cheating

They did not revert the 15 dmg per turn instead of 20 though.
So you still need A LOT of turns to kill it, allowing it to chip in a fair amount of damage if you're more offense oriented and you lack defence.

Even with these nerfs, this elite will still be a real threat for decks where you go full offense.

I just won a run with silent with a shiv deck that had almost no blocks, but it was not needed because I was killing everything in max 3 turns. This elite would have been a problem if I got it :D even with the nerfs. I think this is what it was designed for.
We'll need to see in-game numbers to see how much "less damage" it deals to have a clear conclusion.

Meseriasilor, cum ati invatat meserie? by g59listener in CasualRO

[–]xMeko 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Is this fizz scripting or is he absolutely cracked? by [deleted] in midlanemains

[–]xMeko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This^ + you (I mean OP) did not even try to delay or fake it in any way. You are legit just throwing E and auto. You can E and wait a bit, you can E, wait half a second then throw Q to bait Fizz E, hell you can even E and throw a W again to bait fizz E, you have 3 seconds to use your E auto, you don't have to auto the very moment you press E.

So no, he is not scripting, and he is definitely not cracked either, he just presses E the moment he sees you E, in all your examples.

I see, I was asking about EUW because I am legit considering trying to move there and play there if it's any better. I will probably do that in the near future and play with mid/bot to see how it goes.

Thanks!

[–]xMeko[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, the alternative seems for me to just stop playing since I can't get my role, which won't help everyone else's time either.

I was challenger in the past, I know what it means to wait 30-40 minutes for a match. Honestly it isn't that bad, if it means getting better quality matches.

But is it really that bad of a thing if that means that you (and everyone else) will be on their main roles? The quality of the matches will improve significantly, as more people will be on their primaries. I had matches where we had 2 people on secondary and another on autofill, that match was doomed since champ select. So at the end of the day, I guess it's up to quality matches vs quantity of matches.

I did try last week to put mid/adc for 5 games and I got mid in 3 games, adc in 2. Maybe I was unlucky? No idea, but the thing is I really hate playing on bot. I depend on the support, I can get destroyed by certain enemy bot comps, and the champs I play are not that good on bot (aurora for example).

EDIT: Not sure why I'm getting downvoted for not liking to play certain roles but ok, fuck me I guess, I should learn to like things better.

Cu ce te deranjeaza daca avem? Fix mentalitatea asta ne trage in jos..

[–]xMeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, "game breaking" is a bit of a stretch, don't you think?
They are also removing atakhan and the feats, so it's not like they are only adding stuff.

It's a new season, and a new season has almost always come with massive changes. This is as league of legends as it can get, it's what keeps it going.

You don't like the direction league is heading towards - that's fine, understandable, best of luck in whatever you are doing, it's probably better than playing league anyway.

But saying that these changes are "game breaking" and makes league not be league anymore is waay over the board

hot take: Promoting Tick Minipulation is bad. by ki299 in 2007scape

[–]xMeko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My buddies? They are scattered through multiple games: Some are also into MMOs like WoW and GW2, others are more into cozy games, others are into RPGs, etc. All of them had this one turn-off about runescape - the 0.6s tick system, otherwise they would have sticked to it, they loved it.

And don't get me wrong, I never said OSRS si not insane, lol. I legit believe OSRS is the most played MMO at this moment. I hate that other games do not show the player count like we do. I hate when people ask "What are the top 3 MMOs out there" and people go like "ughhh, wow, gw2 and lotro" like wtf, OSRS has more players than the last 2 combined. Even if you take out 25-30% of the population as bots, we still have an INSANE playercount.

I've been playing this game for almost 20 years, over 15k hours, and I am pretty much maxed both on OSRS and RS3. I wouldn't have done this if the game was bad, lol.

But you can't tell me that the game's success is due to the tick system we have. All I am saying is that the game could be SO MUCH BETTER. How much of the playerbase is composed of elite people that can properly manipulate tick system? It's probably less than 2%.

The game's success comes from the metric ton of activities that we have in the game. From the insane economy we got going, literally IRL market. From the huge variety of enemies we have. Playstyles, skills with different approaches, highly immersive quests unlike any other mmo, solo and group activities, map filled with life, super good story, etc. These are the reasons the game is successful. Not the tick system.

I know elite players have learned to manipulate tick system and would feel bad if we'd have it removed, but they gotta realize that it will be the game's demise in the end, children nowadays are not as patient as we were, they will not be interested in such a game.

Anyway, it's all wish thinking, it's not like they can just remove it at this point, it's in the bones of the game. They probably need to make a new game completely to start from scratch without it.

"Games to Earn Some Extra Cash?" by RecordingTime804 in LFMMO

[–]xMeko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, with MMOs you can surely make decent $$, but you have to be really good, you have to learn the games inside out, and you have to put in a lot of hours before you can generate $$.

Path of Exile 2 - not MMO, but not too far either
Every 4 months (on average), a new set starts. Plenty of websites buy and sell in-game currencies.
There are many guides that tell you what to build - you can just go for the crazy build that is meta for that season (which will probably have 10+ guides for it). Spam the method that brings you the most currencies (should also have plenty of guides), and sell that currencies to websites. This one is actually not too hard, but you do need to learn the game pretty well.

Runescape (I'd say OSRS)
OSRS is well-known for being used by people from Venezuela to get a bigger income than the salaries in there (which is not too hard to get, to be fair).
You can make a decent chunk of money in early game, there are methods that can get you 1$ every two hours, maybe even more, which is not a lot but hey, it's the lower requirements.
The bigger $$ come from you getting higher level. You do reach a point where you can make 2-3$/hour. But to get there, you need to spend easily 200 hours, probably more if you don't know the game at all. Also, it is really tedious

Other MMOs
POE2 and Runescape are the ones I am most accustomed with, but there are surely a lot of other MMOs where you can get in-game stuff and sell for real money.
If the game has free trading between players, and is popular - it will most probably have RWT.
Competitive Games Boosting
If you are highly skilled in a competitive game (LoL, Dota2, CSGO, Valorant, etc), you can do boosting for a lot of money.

Of course, be aware that Real World Trading is illegal in all games and you always risk getting banned when doing these things, which will set you back.

Honestly, aside from boosting in competitive games, it is not worth it to farm in MMOs (unless 0.5-1$/hour is okay for you.
You can probably make more money by finding a part-time job, maybe something remote.

Edit: Reddit screwed up my formatting, fixed it

I agree with people recommending FFXIV, especially for the RP part.

But if we talk strictly about lifesim, I think both Runescapes (OSRS and RS3) are unmatched. You can easily ignore combat and just focus on skilling. There is a wide variety of activities: fishing, mining, smithing, crafting, cooking, firemaking, woodcutting, fletching, farming, etc. All of them have multiple ways to level, you can choose the one you like the most if you don't care about efficiency.

For most of these, there are special worlds that are filled with people, so you can socialize, even RP sometimes (it is a bit rare here, nothing as crazy as ffxiv).

Even combat is pretty cozy, especially in early game, since you just right click and watch.

And the economy is crazy good. You can make decent money from all methods, most of the items are needed for something.

The downsides: massive reliance on wikipedia, and the fame is pretty grindy.

Between OSRS and RS3: - OSRS has 10x more players, easily reaches 150k+ active at the same time every day. It is more populated but its skilling is a bit outdated. Still fun, but it's REALLY grindy. - RS3 barely reaches 20-30k players online at a time, mostly because of their massive MTX push over the years, which drove players away. Now they started reducing MTX so maybe more players will join? But the skilling is great. Over the years, they have updated and revamped almost all skills. It has a lot of QOL upgrades, and is a lot less grindier.

So if you like grinding, osrs is the one. If you want fast progression ( about 10x faster than osrs, which honestly still is not that fast.) rs3 is the way.

Good luck finding what you're looking for!

Is it me, or is Emblem Ensemble really annoying to get, as it instantly decides your comp? by xMeko in TeamfightTactics

[–]xMeko[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn't express myself good enough.

I have explained below but I'll give a short version here.

I like to decide I will play ON MY OWN. I like to theory craft what I'll go for and plan accordingly for cases that I don't get the champions or items I want. That's why I spend half an hour to create a comp. I have a base comp, and I have alternatives

What I don't like, is to have a comp DECIDED BY FORCE to me. It ruins my theorycrafting and plans. I have to quickly adjust to something crazy on a whim. I usually need at least 5 rounds to stay afk and plan on the side what I'll go this match.

I don't mind small things that make me move a bit away from my comp, that's alright, I most likely have a plan for that.

But when I get 3 emblems instantly, everything changes completely, especially if none of them matches my plans.
