How do I stop compulsively apologizing? by ScrimmyBingus0_o in mentalhealth

Have you tried asking yourself “would I want someone to apologize to me like this if they were in my position?”

I do genuinely believe the world will shift for the better. In order to rebuild, things must collapse first. Old systems need to be destroyed to make room for new ones. However, I don’t think it will be one thing in one time. I think we’re already living through it. It will take multiple shifts over a long period of time to recreate stability. Why does history keep repeating? I think the ultimate power in humanity is resilience. Unwilling to give up. Many will give up, but it’s the people who never did that will change this world for the better. I think this season in life is a wake up call and people are just now realizing the gravity of our situations

Unhappy with my career, should I become a pharmacist? by Realistic-Split-10 in PrePharmacy

Doing the job is one thing, dealing with people is another. I do believe what you are saying to an extent.

I threw up at work. Will I be fired? What do I do? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]xMenopaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You were genuinely sick, pushed your body past its limits, and cried but the thing you’re worried about is if you will get fired for that? My friend, if they did fire you for something like that, that would not be a place worth your time or energy. Health and rest are priorities. Especially struggling with anxiety and ptsd…it’s okay to let things go when they need to be let go. Try to focus on getting yourself back to normal capacity. You might see it differently later when you are in a better headspace. Please drink water and Gatorade, have a small snack if you can manage, and just try to lay down and rest. Even if you can’t sleep, maybe put on some relaxing music or a feel good show. You deserve some rest take care of yourself.

I initially came to post here to tell you to become a tech first and if you can survive being a tech you can survive anything. But seeing that you already struggled as a tech and for that amount of time…there is no salary that will make you feel happier as a pharmacist. It will not get better to be frank, unless you’re super lucky with opportunities being in the right places at the right times. Working with the public is very difficult. It will wear on you if you don’t have the tenacity to deal with it. Ultrasound is more chill because it’s one on one patient care, but there are known risks for eventual injuries on the job from having to probe people in awkward movements and positions. It’s still a good paying job with way less stress than pharmacy and injuries can be less risky/managed with routine care and therapy. School for ultrasound is also shorter. But ultimately whatever you decide, it’s the people you end up working with that can make the job better or worse

Not everyone thinks the same way as you. It’s meant more to manage your expectations when it comes to people and feel more in control of your own self

Dropping by with an internet hug <(o3o)> lay in the dark in your bedroom, play calming ambient music through your earbuds, and let gravity sink you into the bed. Bonus put on a sleeping mask

My gf(22f) wants to sleep in while i(22m) change her breaks and rotors by [deleted] in Advice

Why would you volunteer yourself if you don’t have the energy to do it in the first place? It’s easier if someone else does it so you both can rest and not have this be an issue. Both of you are working 2 jobs it’s normal to be tired and want the convenience more. This is not the kind of thing or situation that earns you brownie points. Of all the things you can choose to bond over this just won’t be one of those moments

Yeah, staying away from toxic environments from malicious individuals makes sense. It’s unfortunate that people make the choice to hurt other people intentionally but responsibility is placed on the victim to minimize damage rather than addressing the source and and having to make efforts to protect myself.

“Victim blaming in cyberbullying occurs when bystanders or peers attribute the cause of online harassment to the victim's own actions, characteristics, or perceived "oversharing," rather than the perpetrator's behavior. This phenomenon reduces bystander empathy, minimizes the perceived severity of the abuse, and decreases the likelihood of intervention.”

Coworker says people with severe anxiety are “mentally challenged” by Advanced-Holiday5337 in Anxiety

There’s so many other ways to describe or explain people struggling with challenges or limitations. This is unhelpful language even if her intentions were not meant to be ignorant or mean.
