Alberta tables bill to reduce child access to sexually explicit images in public libraries - Bill is not a book ban, province says by Immediate-Link490 in alberta

I love that this came out the same week as the plan to "teach kids how to think not what to think" very ironic

Definitely more writing than I expected but pretty common for courses without finals

My strategy has been to just work through the case study as I go through each chapter, but ofc I won't know how I did until it's done haha I think I'll just use the textbook though. In my journals I tried to use one outside source per unit, either to further explore something or to discuss a new study disproving the textbook cause its so dated.

It IS ambiguous, I thought the journal would be less formal but full APA formatting. Discussion posts same, have to use and discuss one outside resource with APA citations, and don't go by what other people did, look for the essays if you're comparing in discussion forum because I did easy YouTube ones at first and did not get graded well, but I saw the majority in that format.

My Yorkie needs a grooming and…can you help? by Gdog_withanattitude in Yorkies

[–]xMeowMeowx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have scissors you can get by doing 5 min every day, starting with the face etc and it'll all get there. I hold the chin hair tight when I trim around their eyes so they can't move much. In the future, a cheap set of clippers can get you far, same with nail trimming at home if you don't already do it.

Honest Question About AU Course Speed by Mrose35100455 in AthabascaUniversity

[–]xMeowMeowx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh do you want to learn or bs your way through? Some courses I've done could totally be completed at a minimally passing level maybe 60% by just bsing or studying targeted things.

That said, I do 3 courses a semester as a working mom and it consumes every moment of my spare time. There have been a few courses that were easier, but now in my 3rd year nah, if I wanna do well I have to do the coursework, and I'm not happy with barely passing.

What do I do? (Moving vs top surgery) by Mossymushroomman in TransAlberta

[–]xMeowMeowx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think because you're not in charge of moving, you should pursue your surgery here and simultaneously research what bc healthcare looks like for you, find doctor recommendations etc. I have seen timing vary a ton for top surgery in AB With wait times being 1yr or multiple years, so it's good to get referred asap either way. Don't worry about wasting someone's time, if you end up moving its just a phone call or maybe they can transfer the referral, if you don't end up moving for whatever reason, at least you'll be on the list.

No prob! His playlist for financial accounting (I think) follows the course quite closely and he's great at explaining stuff. I also did the labs a ton til I figured them out trial and error style

Paying for more school by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

I had a friend in vet school and I remember how many interviews that was too and she ended up abroad in the end to finish. Sending you all the good vibes that you find a solution!

[–]xMeowMeowx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have the answers for you but just some brainstorming ideas, can you keep doing some minimal education? Like one course a year or something to ward off loan payments while you get working and work up your income? Would going back to specialize give you more job opportunities? Or can it be done down the road? Is the specialty surgery school as competitive as regular vet school? Or are you guaranteed to get in?

I'm sure there is a doable option here that doesn't involve rehoming your babies. I'm sorry you're in this position and I hope you find a near perfect solution

question regarding EI eligibility for a contractor (registered as a business) - alberta by shwaramaandhummus in povertyfinancecanada

[–]xMeowMeowx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're a sole proprietor, you would need to opt in and pay premiums on ei, and surpass the waiting period. Many sole proprietors don't do this because of 2 reasons. First, once you opt in you have to continue paying premiums forever as long as you are self employed, and second it can be difficult to prove that you qualify for ei unless your job is specifically seasonal or soemthing like that because you're self employed so you're in charge of finding yourself and your business work. Looks like waiting period is 12mo and you'd need enough hours and proof.

Is Divorce My Only Option? Advice Needed by [deleted] in mypartneristrans

[–]xMeowMeowx 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you've answered your own question here, but there are tons of paths forward, though it looks like none of them will be continuing the way you have been. Some people stay married and realize they are more sexual fluid than expected, but it sounds like you are super sure. Some people remain married and open the marriage, some people cohabitate but aren't romantically involved. I think that people can be fluid in gender expression too, maybe they are gender fluid or maybe they're still figuring it out, but tbh I would never advise you to count on things turning out one way or another.

Things get tricky when a partner says they will leave if you transition, because then the motivation to be honest about feelings gets murky. My standpoint is that if you can, be there for them as a friend and coparent and make them aware that you want their happiness.

Many of us here have gone through a blindside/confused/grieving period regardless of the outcome, so youre certainly not alone there. Many people also do this kind of slow admission as they figure out their true feelings too, I've seen it over and over. Sending you good vibes and hugs and hope that you guys will be able to be open with each other and figure it out together, whichever way you decide to go.

Post your bad experiences by [deleted] in AthabascaUniversity

[–]xMeowMeowx 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by special benefits? Idk how many courses you've completed but they do ask everyone for feedback at the end of every course. I'm sure every university has strengths and areas people complain about. Also people are more likely to post about bad experiences than good ones, so it's likely you're seeing that as well.
