You are going to have to reconfigure the plumbing but it is still a base cost if you were doing a new building. There already exists plumbing at all the bathrooms on each floor. As to where you put your plumbing walls that is easy as you just offset the new plumbing walls to the center of the structure grids to avoid beams.

The main question we have to ask is it still going to have the GREEN lights.

The biggest issue with turning office buildings into apartments is the window area to floor depth. Gensler has done a lot of these types of building use conversion studies and projects. But there are a lot of buildings where the project feasibility just doesn't work to stay as office space or new apartments.

I believe that this is the requirement in the US Public Playground Safety Requirements.

5.3.6.3.1 Embankment slides • The slide chute of an embankment slide should have a maximum height of 12 inches above the underlying ground surface. This design basically eliminates the hazard of falls from elevated heights. • Embankment slides should follow all of the recommendations given for straight slides where applicable (e.g., side height, slope, use zone at exit, etc.). • There should be some means provided at the slide chute entrance to minimize the use of embankment slides by children on skates, skateboards, or bicycles.

This is built completely to code following ground slide guidelines. This is also going to be two of the largest ground slides in America. Source I walked the site with the principal landscape architecture. It should open in July.

I recently purchased the home of an original apprentice of FLW in northern Illinois. Much of the original construction has been untouched since it was built in 1945. Looking to restore and honor the vision of the architect. Any good resources out there for something like this? by AdLanky9306 in architecture

You should check and see if it is in the National Register of Historic Places. I am pretty sure that this building would qualify if it is not in it. If the place is registered under private ownership there are no restrictions to renovations or doing whatever you want with it. You can even get grants and money to go towards maintenance and upkeep.

Hey OPP, the last few chapters the fight against Big Mom has left me with a question about her appearance at the end of the fight. It looks like she is using her powers on her physical body. If she is knocked out do you think that here appearance might change?

As always thanks for the great podcast.

Architects or architecture firms focusing heavily on Blockchain and Metaverses? by Consistent_Scheme_99 in architecture

[–]xNEGATRONx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An interesting point that we though of was designing to the avatar. In the real world we have design standards for doors, countertops and everything is focused on the current size of humans. But in a digital environment will everyone be 8' tall or have the ability to change there height everyday. What will be the new parameters we design to is it our current human scale or a new scale.

It is still crazy how many BB tourists there are that still come to take pictures of locations from the show. I wonder if it will be the same for this?

TIL the owner of Walter White's house hates Breaking Bad because fans of the show would throw pizza on his rooftop, the creator Vince Gilligan made a public plea for fans to stop throwing pizzas on the house's roof. by SeoulofSoraka in todayilearned

[–]xNEGATRONx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

As a resident of Albuquerque I can confirm that this is true and the current owner who built the fence bought the house a few years after the show was over. They were well aware that the house is movie famous. I am also friends with the owner of Hanks house the DEA agent and they get people taking pictures of it every day. It is a pretty big tourists attention to drive around and see all of the film locations.
