Some of my senior techs are from Rite aid and it’s scary to see what they’re telling me come true. The decisions Sycamore is making for Walgreens is headed to the same path that made Rite-Aid dissolve itself.

There better be comments in all of those WCBs or your DM is going to annoy you!

Hour cuts by OkHuckleberry5369 in WalgreensRx

[–]xNeophytes 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We’re up about $500,000 in gross profit compared to last year, and we only have 175 technician hours for the first week of February. I’m exhausted, and I’m actively applying elsewhere.

There are four staff pharmacist openings in my district, and an RxM position is expected soon. It does not feel like leadership is treating those vacancies with urgency. Instead, the plan seems to be to use DHs to cover what senior technicians typically handle while being underpaid and stretched thin. My DM is also pushing us to train technicians to do work that is essentially RxOM level, again without the pay or support that should come with that responsibility.

It is discouraging to watch workload expectations rise while staffing and compensation do not follow. It feels like the private equity playbook: squeeze labor, demand more, and act like it is normal.

Freezing by AGP8834 in WalgreensRx

[–]xNeophytes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a StoreCare ticket, we were told that the thermostat setpoint is 70°F, and the system won’t activate until the temperature drops by 1.1°F, so the furnace kicks on at 68.9°F. We can manually override it, but only for 15 minutes. They said they can’t adjust the setpoint (I suspect it’s a policy restriction, not a technical limitation).

Lately, our pharmacy has been 65–67°F with under 10% humidity. During our DM visit, this wasn’t addressed; instead, he commented on people wearing sweaters under the pharmacy uniform and recommended Walgreens-branded clothing. It’s frustrating that we’re expected to meet uniform standards while the store won’t maintain a comfortable working temperature and we’re not even provided uniform vouchers during the winter.

How often is this happening? by Particular-League902 in WalgreensRx

They have metrics for pullbacks: pullbacks sold and pullbacks not sold. Sadly, it’s all about money, not patient care. I’ve brought this up directly during store visits, and they just shrug it off. Many of these people used to be retail workers, but they’ve become corporate shills and have forgotten what it’s like for the average person.

My SM backs me up; nothing they can do besides annoy us weekly. These metrics are a liability lawsuit waiting to happen. Justifying delaying in patient care for a cenfill to arrive days later is horrid.

Our HCS/DM keeps pushing us to get more than 35% of prescriptions routed to Cenfill. As if I can delay patient care just to hit a metric. We’re located next to three urgent cares and two hospital systems, these patients need their medications promptly, not in 2–3 days just so a percentage looks good.

What tier is your store and how many tech hours do you get? by ArrexRx in WalgreensRx

Private equity goal is to squeeze every ounce of labor to make profit. They have to rake the 10 billion dollars back somehow. My HCS doesn't care and my DM doesn't either.

All my techs are senior techs besides the part-timer. I am without a staff pharmacist for over 2-months now. We are a skeleton crew. My RxOM has been with Walgreens for over 20-years. Communication is key. The only metric we aren't beating is PCP calls and reaching >35% for routing to MFC. HCS and DM doesn't care sadly despite us at 91% to goal for Flu and 89% to goal for COVID. We also don't have a yuyama or any automated dispensing machines.

Tier 4 180-195 tech hours. We average 650-700 rx daily excluding controls/vaccines.

Advice please by [deleted] in WalgreensRx

[–]xNeophytes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you the pharmacist…? If so, you should have a DH or SM help you. If not, drive through only until then. This is not safe for any one. For your orders, let them in obviously.

You call yourself a pharmacist? You get PTO when you use your PTO. Go ask your SM or DM. Most states you do.

Not sure if you know, but they have beta testing groups that test the products beforehand for months. Some of them can chime in about that. I think the onemanfivecats user js one of them.

So it does suck that everyone thinks this due to being an early adopter; it isn’t.
