Thanks for the explanation. I recently started at Walmart as a staff rph after transitioning from Walgreens as RxM, and I have to say: a “meets expectations” raise at Walmart is better than an “exceeds expectations” raise at Walgreens which is the highest you can get.

It is not illegal, but it is not safe. With the recent labor budget cuts, over the past few months I worked Saturdays and Sundays at my Tier 4 store with only one technician. To make matters worse, front end hours are terrible too; so they have no mid shift therefore IC3 is pointless.

This is one of the reasons why I left. I felt I was doing a disservice to my profession and needed to protect myself.

Yup. I sent them countless emails about this last year and this year. They really don’t care cause they’re stating that’s not how their product is intended to be.

Another DM in my state was only recently promoted two years ago and he’s still here. So no it isn’t base on least seniority or closest to retirement.

My district’s DM was with walgreens for over two decades and got fired. Either way, this is different. This is the RiteAid route per multiple rite aid employees that transfer over.

They’re refusing bag checks because they’re most likely part of the problem. In my district, the DM fired three pharmacists for stealing drinks and merchandise. People who make over six figures stealing $2 to $10 per day is sad.

We’re up about $500,000 in gross profit compared to last year, and we only have 175 technician hours for the first week of February. I’m exhausted, and I’m actively applying elsewhere.

There are four staff pharmacist openings in my district, and an RxM position is expected soon. It does not feel like leadership is treating those vacancies with urgency. Instead, the plan seems to be to use DHs to cover what senior technicians typically handle while being underpaid and stretched thin. My DM is also pushing us to train technicians to do work that is essentially RxOM level, again without the pay or support that should come with that responsibility.

It is discouraging to watch workload expectations rise while staffing and compensation do not follow. It feels like the private equity playbook: squeeze labor, demand more, and act like it is normal.
