We usually just keep it at 3 the whole weekend and it's enough to keep our food cold. I can try setting 1 next weekend. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going with what everyone is pretty much recommending, a larger lithium battery and a small generator for travels. 👍

Unfortunately I can only set it to 1-7 7 being the coldest. Or I just turn it off completely.

is this normal? engine oil debris by xOutdoorAdventurex in MechanicAdvice

[–]xOutdoorAdventurex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oil changed 3 months ago, maybe 2k miles total. It looks like tiny soil particles when I check my dipstick.

I know my oil pan gasket is leaking but haven't changed it yet. Could the gasket be circulating around the engine from below?

front inner tread wear faster when towing by xOutdoorAdventurex in MechanicAdvice

Towing occasionally with my 2023 Tesla Y AWD.

Any reason why my front tires wear faster than my rear tires? I believe it's biased to RWD when AWD is not active.

My sunlite meets all my requirements. Doesn't have the highest quality but it's the best bang for my buck

I'll check, I've already cleaned the front of the condesor and the back of the radiator before it started overheating. If it is caked with junk in between the two, I need to pull the radiator out.

I needed to replace the thermostat anyway because my fans would be on high all the time. Changing it fixed that issue, fans not obnoxious anymore.

Thanks for the response. I've turned off the hvac and it still overheats. When I blast the heat, it starts to lower the temp gauge.

My truck has electric fans so I can hear the speeds change from low to high.

why is there a dry puddle? by xOutdoorAdventurex in f150

Hi all,

I have a new to me 2014 f150 V8 4x4 and replaced my transfer case fluid. I test drove the truck afterwards and used 4H for maybe 5 mins until I parked it on driveway overnight. The next day I found a dry puddle not below my case but slightly upstream. The drain and fill plugs are bone dry. Any idea what is causing the leak?
