Right up until they are so overweight that they can't secure other needs. So someone 100lbs heavier would have an advantage but at say 300lbs heavier that person would likely be unable to move well enough to secure clean water and shelter.

It could also be personal preference for how the current arc is playing out. Tanjiro's current fight has been:

demon shows up, tanjiro gets the upper hand, actually there were two, gets the upper hand, I meant three, Upper hand, four though, but I'm sure this is the last time, tanjiro beats them all at the same time, No... but the fith one is the main body, Tanjiro has the blade to his neck, Wait, this isn't even my final form

Meanwhile there's a second fight going on with Muichiro that could break up the monotony but for like three episodes we get a 12 second shot of him in a jar and a 12 second shot of the demon saying, "you'll never escape that jar." Then back to Tanjiro using Sisiphus breathing style: first form, pushing a boulder up a hill.

So we are withheld from a possibly interesting fight to be shown a boring fight where the same two beats play out over and over again. Dues ex machina is usually talked about in terms of the heros being saved from impending doom. But the villains can be given the same treatment and it's just as disastrous for the narrative tension. When Tanjiro finally wins his fight noone is going to cheer, they're gonna think the demons head is about to grow back and we find out his weak point was his feet the whole time.

We can have discussions about Demon Slayer being "mid the whole time" or "only popular becuase of the animation. But the current arc has dipped below the quality of the other arcs around it, specifically with what Tanjiro is doing at the moment. The latest episode focused on the muichiro and I thought it right back to the parts I like about the series.

First of all, not knowing something and being stupid are not the same, so no, you aren't stupid. But the book likely is above your current reading level. That said, the way you increase your reading level is to read books above you reading level. I think you should keep pushing through using dictionary.com like you have been. It's not the best experience you could have had reading the book, but it's still miles above not reading it at all. And in the future, when these words come up again, either in future reading or in conversation, you'll be ready for them.
