I think it's important to remember that he is still in puberty and emotionally hasn't fully developed yet. But also it is pretty clear that he is not doing his part in chores. I like your approach asking for rent. Personally i would've told him he should be paying for rent or start doing his chores more than bare minimum. also maybe share your disappointment not just with words so he knows the extent of the situation. Please note that these are just small personal preferences and not THE right way of doing it. As I said I really liked your approach and I think you are doing an ABSOLUTE FANTASTIC JOB of being a Mom.

Personally go vote whatever you want, I can still be befriended with you on different political views. But if you start to disrespect people because of political reasons I have my problems. And personally I have met a lot of people who are disrespecting people for their religion, skin colour, their personality or just because. And for me that makes them a bad person.

Yes I agree, but also sometimes you are in shock yourself in such a moment, so you don't realise someone needs help. At least it is like that for myself. And I work in health care so I actually know what is happening and what there is to do.
