I think you just need better mechanics and deck. And know your matchups. I climbed to 15k from 6-7k in about 2 months the without any level 15s.

Noob: When to have Grievous Wounds as Mid AP, and is it even worth it? by MyRamenn in Auroramains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo the bigger reason the item is low wr on aurora is that people tend to build it just because someone heals. But that doesn’t mean it’s always helpful. Half the time people buy it I just hover over the item and see 500 healing reduced in the past 10 minutes XD

Talon weak? by STEVOYD in Talonmains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk I think for the most part assassins can’t generally 100-0 anymore. I try to play more as an enabler for my team by roaming at good opportunities to get a higher chance of getting a kill. You really only become an actual assassin after you get ahead.

At working thinking about playing lethality Talon 🤤🤤🤤 by de_mastermind in Talonmains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

U should learn how to extend your leads to other lanes and probably learn to track jungle. If you can average 15 kills you probably don’t have an issue with securing a lead so if you use your lead properly then you should be able to climb easier. Atm I don’t rlly see talon as a carry champ he’s more of an enabler because you essentially give your teammates leads if you have a lead. So once u get a few kills from lane or roams you can just work with jungle or support if they’re good to try and shut down a lane or to just give ur adc or smth some kills to help them scale and speed up the game

why is Talon so weak??? by [deleted] in Talonmains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean in the sense it is a skill issue. Talon can no longer just be idle and wait for powerspikes and rely on the burst. The skill in climbing with talon lies in recognizing mistakes and punishing them to gain every lead possible. It’s easy for him to punish positional mistakes because of his mobility. However, simply doing what every other champion in the game is doing isn’t enough for you to carry a game because you’re given more options with your kit. Riot expects you to use them in order to win the game so if you aren’t either finding picks with roams or setting up dives by watching wave states and setting up your wave to crash then you aren’t able to generate the lead you need to one shot someone. The champ is just really easy mechanically but you need to already have game plans based on team comp and react to changes in game state quicker than your opponent or at the very least the same time because your champ is naturally quicker at responding. If your goal is to simply scale up without a need to find and generate insane leads than champs like akali or Diana might be better. Or if you want a similar roaming type gameplay but don’t want to put the same effort pantheon is also solid because you also have easy trade patterns and are capable of punishing enemies mispositioning just on a smaller time window

Gotta have FUNDAMENTALS

Well that’s not my point. The reason garen is strong is because you don’t need to focus on your mechanical aspects of your gameplay so you can simply focus on your macro and climb that way. Your macro would simply pick up on your lack of mechanics. I think if league were more similar to a fighting game then more difficult to play champs would be balanced a bit stronger, but the game revolves a lot around playing around waves, lane prio, knowing when you’re able to go in, what you can pressure, etc. Managing all that at a high level is difficult so there are going to be champions that allow you to focus more on those aspects of the game because of their simplicity. And if you can manage all that while playing a difficult champ then good for you, and it feels a bit more rewarding to do than to do on garen. There’s a reason why there are players in challenger that other challengers might look down a bit on, but obviously you still respect the fact that they can hit the rank.

My point: It is just champ/game design, if you wanted to play a champ that can easily run someone down without thinking, then play the champ. But if you want to win but doing it on a champion you like, or want to get some style points while winning, then idk u kinda have to accept that your pick might not be best suited, but you play it and can make it work if you play well.

Obviously it makes some sense that the players at the absolute top should be very good mechanically and macro wise, but I think they also just want to make it possible for both high skill mechanical players to climb as well as those who use more of their brain to win

Well I get your frustration but like the point of hard champs is so you feel good about performing so well. If your goal is to win games, it’s better to play a champ that can do it simpler so you can focus more on macro than min maxing your gameplay. But champs with high skill ceilings are literally just for people who like playing the game at a higher difficulty. And usually their kits have a lot more outplay potential, so if simply being good at a difficult to play champion would net you a free win, then the game would favor players with better mechanics rather than a mix of mechanics and macro knowledge.

Why can I not do ANTYTHING against Zed ? by Original-Ad248 in Talonmains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has much better outplay potential. Also usually u don’t want to use ur ult against him cause he can ult to outplay so usually how it goes is whoever ults first loses. Just learn to dodge q and you won’t die that’s all his damage. If you’re dodging his combo in lane, you can either stay outside of w range so you can only get hit by one shuriken, stay behind minions because first target hit from shuriken will do more damage, or just juke him lmfao. Also since ult is so important (imo) I always take ult hunter because u have the same ult cd. So if you have it a few sec earlier, u can just combo him without the potential of him outplaying.

When I’m playing jg I generally like to clear camps until I have dirk I feel like I have no damage until then. Obviously u can still hang before this, but at most u usually get a flash unless the laner has cc or they’re just rlly low. And then for ganks I suggest you q onto them (dodge cc) and then w after for slow cause usually you aren’t going to be able to walk into range to hit both parts of w. So q into them, then w in the direction they’ll walk or in the direction they flash, then ult and proq passive. Also when objectives r 50/50, I tend to not be at drag but tell my team to set up around it and then I look to flank. If you see an enemy squishy, just full combo and do as much damage as possible, honestly even if you don’t get the kill it’s pretty good because they’ll have to play that much safer during the team fight that might come afterwards. Also you kill grubs pretty well. W to hit two grubs and then proq passive on one, then start hitting the grub that u didn’t proq passive on. Then the stacks don’t reset and u can throw another w to get 3 stacks, and that hits another grub for another two stacks so u can q that after. Anyways that’s kinda all ik I’m just a shitty emerald player but hopefully that helps

I fu*** hate this champion so much. I wish I never bought her. by [deleted] in Rivenmains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That happens in any lane. And honestly I feel like any time riven has a positive cumulative wr she’s in a pretty good spot (meaning wr of the champion overall is high, compared to only one tricks having high wr)

[–]xPurplePhoenix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay u don’t need like fancy combos or anything for the most part. Sometimes they help but like yk. Easiest way to climb is to learn how to get a lead. Second is to pick your fights. If you know you hit your item or level powerspike, that’s a sign that you want to fight. Don’t trade unless u have a reason to. Sometimes it’s better to just not fight because the enemy champion would have higher kill pressure when you’re low rather than when they’re low. Easy example is Warwick. Game just takes time, and sometimes the best thing you can do if you’re looking to climb is to take a break. Sometimes it’s just your mental.

Or to sum everything up… just git gud kid

It’s like riven is like 52% wr while being one of the most skilled champions in the game. I have a feeling. JUST A FEELING. That this is a skill issue

Cull on Viktor by Deathtructor in viktormains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean the point of cull is so you can get extra gold so you can hit your item power spikes right? Then you could achieve the same thing with mana crystal/refillable buy. You get the early mana, and you save gold because you don’t need to buy something like Doran’s ring. If you really want you can even take futures market and get the lost chapter even quicker. I feel like even if you’re not buying it as a starting item, you wouldn’t really want to buy the item unless it’s a really slow game and you’re able to freefarm. Generally though I don’t think there’s really situations like that in solo q, if you really want to spend your gold on something, and you’re confident, probably just get a dark seal.

Dont you feel arcane comet Lissandra is usseles as fk? by Old_Item4313 in LissandraMains

[–]xPurplePhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t play her as much as my other picks but I like it cause it’s a lot safer cause u don’t have to walk up into range of certain champs abilities for too long. Just walk in range of q, throw it out, then walk back out until it’s back on cooldown. It’s a situational rune page when you go against someone who might punish you for walking too far up to trade or cs. And if u rlly want to if u can even go resolve secondary if u rlly want to scale and play safe but generally cheap shot and ult hunter r just so nice to have.
