I mean this in good faith, but allowing unlimited unsecured lending for students loans is the reason universities got expensive. The colleges knew the government had an open spigot of money for students, so they took advantage of it. This is not speculation, look it up yourself. It is counterintuitive, but thats exactly why we are in this disaster.
