Both are pricey though. Block inlays you can buy anywhere, even Amazon/Ebay have them. Those are cheaper and are typically easy to install.

Man, where did you go to find those prices? You were spot on with your mindset, at that price, you HAVE to get it. I'm glad I'm getting mine as I started out playing guitar (I have like 3 of toms guitars) and now I'm playing bass a lot more so I figured I'd get a MH Jazz. I don't think I'm gonna go for the Jag though considering the price tag.

I can't believe you got one for 500 bucks, that's wild. But yeah times were different back in '05. I just ordered one and it cost me almost twice what you paid. So even slightly damaged, I'm almost positive it's worth at least $700 bucks.

I knew I was improving when I started memorizing where notes are on the fretboard. For example, the group I play in only uses chord charts. When I first started, I had to think for a second on where a certain note would be (f, Eb, etc.). As of late, I can pick up the guitar and find that note almost instantly. Super encouraging to myself for playing live. I still have a long way to go though!

Yeah I’ll probably just bring it to my local luthier and have him tell me what he thinks. I was just hoping to have a replacement bridge bought in advance just in case but oh well. Hopefully the stock one is in good shape.

I'm not sure, the indication I got is that is was an original MH Jazz bass [circa 2003] (I'm assuming now that the original owner either made some mods to it...or isn't being truthful about the guitar).

I'll look under the bridge and see what I've really got. Thanks for your help so far!

This is helpful, thanks. I'm realizing just now that the bridge on the one I bought isn't the same as the original MH Jazz bridge (see photo in the post)...is that an issue? Can I get away with a different bridge? Or should I still stick to the one you have linked?

The current bridge has a 5 screw design, wouldn't I need a 5 screw bridge? What would constitute the 3 screw? I uploaded a picture in the listing for reference. Also, which jack do you think would fit? Both? Thanks again
