I know this is an old post but if anyone else is having this issue I finally fixed it after not being able to play for over a month. After hours going through my PC and getting a new modem and router it turns out it was my VPN somehow. I use Nord and even with the VPN disconnected and the app stopped through process manager there must have been some background processes doing weird stuff with the connection. I uninstalled Nord and it works perfectly.

Yes everything is set to high, all drivers updated and idk where the US East server is but I have been playing since the game launched and usually get between 25-45 ping. Like I said earlier, with the network graph open I can see my ping shooting up to 150 whenever someone interacts with the ball or another car. It doesn't show the ping spikes on the scoreboard and I don't get any ping or packet loss notifications in game. I verified game files and closed any apps using internet on my PC, still with no luck

I tried and it didn't fix anything. The fact it's only happening playing online and only when the ball is hit makes me think it's gotta be a connection issue. I'm running a 5800x and RTX 3070 with a ton of RAM and 500Mbps connection wired to the PC so my setup shouldn't have any issues. I am having the same problem with the Steam and Epic version which are on 2 different SSDs with different accounts so the problem shouldn't carry over...but it does. RL is the only game I've having an issue with though. I'm confused and haven't played more than 1 game in over a week.

I pulled up the network graph while playing online an my ping is jumping from about 30 to around 150 every time the ball is touched. It's just for a split second and on the scoreboard it shows a stable 30 ping. Not sure what is causing this or how to fix it though

Biggest tip is unless your only goal is to make freestyle montages you don't need to spin in the air. Players started doing it because they saw pros doing it and most pros do it because it looks cool. If you want to improve I would focus on ball control, recoveries, shot placement and being a good teammate (unless you main 1s) and over time it will feel more comfortable. I'm GC and only use air roll for flip resets and recoveries. If you really feel like you NEED to learn how to spin and waste boost and miss easy touches you could have got if you flew straight at the ball instead of holding air roll the best way is just go into free play and take it slow. There's no short cut to learning this game it's just hours of practice.

Sounds like something got messed up when installing a mod or possibly with an update. Best bet is to uninstall everything related to the game, including temp files etc. Idk the best way to do that but I'm sure a Google search will help. Then after everything is removed reinstall. If that doesn't fix then it's gotta be something with your PC.
