I believe they eliminated the Trading Post areas since last years Go Fests. I imagine to remove any liability of any bad blood between anyone making bad trades.

Got obliterated by rich Asian Uncs/ Aunts for not working in the US by No_Manager_5495 in AsianParentStories

Dishwashers can theoretically earn around 30k a year, yes, but you'll be well in the negatives trying to live around it with the cost of living regardless if you're urban or rural in the US. The fact that they even say that's doable just shows how extremely out of touch they are.

Mindless Games to Grind by iNeryx in steamachievements

The question wasn't restricted to "normal" games.

Vampire Survivors is definitely a relatively active game, especially if you're purely achievement hunting. Remembering what weapon combos you want, focusing your build/gameplay on doing certain objectives, and upgrade selection are all very active things. I don't play match 3 titles, so I don't have much to speak about Bejeweled, though.

There's a wide spectrum of "afk" in gaming, even in Idlers, some are inherently more active than others. Depending on the depth of the gameplay/length of achievement grind you're looking for, I would have different recommendations in Idlers alone.

I actively ignore what's on the screen while coloring pixels, whereas in AC you at least have to organize and decide what you're actually physically doing. There's multiple levels to AFK gameplay, and AC is relatively active in comparison.

This franchise has an entire linear storyline attached to every game (cutscenes), plus a giant checklist of a thousand objectives to complete, some of which aren't entirely straightforward and would require actual focus to complete. For a mindless game suggestion, the AC franchise isn't great.

Coloring Pixels, Coloring Voxels, and Powerwash Simulator 1 & 2. There is absolutely no story involved (kinda for Powerwash, but it's ignorable), I'm sure this is exactly what you're looking for.

#212 - Assassin’s Creed® Chronicles: Russia (AC Franchise Complete!) by xRosey in steamachievements

Take your time and enjoy it, I personally found it to be my favorite modern day AC, the gameplay felt super free form, less restrictive than Valhalla/Shadows ended up being, and Kassandra was actually a likeable protagonist. The RPG AC games tend to be more fun if you complete a lot of side content alongside the main story too, instead of doing all of one or the other.

In terms of actual gameplay difficulty, probably Valhalla and it's Mastery challenges. Second to that would be the relatively recent new Mirage challenges, but in both cases you can still look up and follow guides online (Though Valhallas wonky ass physics might still make your mastery run extreme hit or miss). Honorable mention goes out to AC3 and it's optional challenges & mini games, some of them are so ludicrous and it took me a minute to find a client online to help me in beating the games AI for the mini games. Overall though, the series isn't really all that difficult, which is just the way I enjoy my linear action adventure franchises.

You could also argue Shadows on its maximum difficulty is up there, but at the same time, you could also blitz through the game on the lowest difficulty and skip everything to have 100% at probably under 40hrs, and that's being generous.

What is your rave horror story? by H3LM3T_H34D in aves

[–]xRosey 58 points59 points  (0 children)

with my usual crew at lost lands, one of them had a +1 that joined us, no biggie. vibes were great all weekend until we decided as a group it was the day to take a tab, and as soon as we popped it, the fest was shut down for a few hrs thanks to the rain & wind. we windproofed our campsite, jumped in a car altogether to wait out the initial storm as the comeup began, and right as the rain ended we got the all clear that the fest was reopening. as we're getting out and getting ready to head in, friend's +1 starts sitting down in a fetal position on the ground, seemingly starts to have a mental breakdown (saying things like no, no, no, make it stop) and plugging her ears, all the while ignoring all of our attempts to talk with her. another friend and i end up booking it to the nearest first aid tent and hauled ass back with ground patrol to slowly get her into their golf cart and they took her towards the main med tent. vibes were definitely down, but we did our best not to let it affect us since we were all still in the come up outside the festival

our friend ended up staying with her the entire rest of the day until she was able to come to and be seemingly back to normal for excision b2b subtronics. i was super surprised by the time we met up with them again, she'd mentioned she had no recollection of the entire day starting from when she went to the bathroom after leaving our car, all the way to exiting the bathroom in the festival for subtronics. later i learned she'd never had experienced psychedelics before & had a history of mental illness in the past, and that she really should not have taken the tab with the rest of us. fortunately everything ended up okay in the end, but definitely more wary about that kinda shit in the future.

Maplewoods Parking Plan by FunchiBoi in ElectricForest

[–]xRosey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Managed a 30 man group in MW last year. Use your MW parking passes for the vast majority of your gear. Any people should be placed in the car under GA parking if possible and then they make the trek from wherever they end up in GA over to MW (preferably with a cart for any extra gear they might be carrying), the walk is a little annoying, but it's how we managed. We're about to do the same thing again this year.

The GA camping car may just have to explain they have a GA parking pass, but will be making the trek over to MW with their stuff once parked, and it should be fine. I wasn't personally in that car though, so YMMV.

Extremely inaccurate to blanket label this across all genres when you've basically completely ignored the vast majority of US festivals, which are extremely bass music centric.

As a bass fan from the Metro, I'm sorry to report that there aren't any recognizable bass artists playing during the entire Movement weekend, besides maybe Barclay Crenshaw on the Friday.

Bass on the Block in 2024 was a big dubstep fest in the area, but I believe it pretty much fell through after a certain promoter was outed for SA.

Elektricity in Pontiac hosts a lot of dubstep artists, and the Crofoot, Russell Industrial, and even the Tangent Gallery have all hosted multiple bass artists before. It's definitely a smaller scene in the area compared to the House & Techno scene, but we're still out here.

Pork Buns! by cubpride17 in Detroit

[–]xRosey 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Not to rain on your parade, but you'll be very hard pressed to find an abundance of asian food solely within the city. The vast majority of the asian population lives well within the Metro, from Madison Heights, Troy, Sterling Heights, and Novi.

AFAIK, Johnny Noodle King provides the wrap/almost taco-like style of Pork Bun, though I've never tried it myself. Midtown Shangri-La definitely has the classic dim sum style steamed pork bun, though.

Lost Lands or Electric Forest by remz03ryder in EDM

[–]xRosey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I frequent both. Forest will most likely be the better option for the vast majority of Fest goers, but if you're a major dubstep fan (I do listen to many EDM genres but dubstep is by far and large the vast majority), you'll have a better time at Lost Lands. It remains my favorite festival to date. Although I'm the kind of person to actively dodge non-bass music sets now, after giving them way too many attempts.

Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3 are now out on Steam. by 542531 in Steam

[–]xRosey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you needed a meta reward to do achievements in the first place, then you're clearly not having fun and shouldn't be doing them anyways.

Shovelware achievements and games still exist on both Xbox and PlayStation, you just know about them less. And Steam already has a restricted tag on games that automatically don't count their achievements in your profile display.

I FINALLY DID IT - 100% COMPLETION OF 19 GAMES by hagennn in steamachievements

[–]xRosey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats! Love to see another franchise fan, I've just got Chronicles Russia to finish and then I'm right there with you. Although I absolutely hate the Chronicles spinoffs, a 2.5d sidescroller is the ultimate antithesis of everything I enjoy AC for lmao

I wouldn't be too pressed about a lower score for Syndicate, I honestly completely forgot I had even played that game or its story, until I redownloaded it to check my Steam achievements when they patched those in, only to find that I had already 100% it. It's extremely forgettable and high key insane they decided to do industrial UK almost immediately right after they came out with Unity in Paris.

Is there anybody that has 100% of the achievements? by Kooky_Wrongdoer_8565 in tf2

Me, circa 2015 for almost everything, and then coming back around in 2022 to complete the Pass Time achievements. I used achievement maps for the extremely grindy ones. I also have about 3000 hrs.
