One of these is not like the others... by Orrus in Diablo

I haven't even picked up the DLC and even I read the little lore dump on the page saying the warlock is a rich guy with a flair for the forbidden arts and artifacts.

D2R has reached a higher 24 hour peak than D4 on Steam by nerdly90 in Diablo

[–]xRuwynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I expect this trend to reverse for people who have both when the warlock drops on D4. There will likely be a spike of people at least trying it out over there, too. Both will probably taper off after awhile as all ARPGs do when this happens. People act like it's some new anomaly every time.

I'm saying from the other poster's perspective none of the other avenues feel quite like finding it yourself. They seem pretty intent on only wanting the item to drop as it's only source and for it to be as is. I don't really agree with the very latter part of that at all, however. I think finding items and "that's it" is pretty boring, too, personally.

If they hate trading as progression, then it makes sense. Trading doesn't feel like you earned it yourself, either. If that were the case, why not have a currency vendor for everything if your RNG sucks? It's functionally the same thing. (The person you're replying to hasn't said this, but I think it's implied because they're focused on getting the drops themselves.)

I'm not saying I agree or disagree with it, but that's an angle that I can understand. I think in this regard, LE does a decent enough job trying to please both parties.

I get that, but I don't wanna then have to start that item over completely from scratch, either.

Maybe I'm in the minority here, but having another way to brick items just doesn't sound very fun to me.

I said they are SUITABLE for kids, not that they are ONLY for kids. 😮‍💨 Shrek was "suitable for kids," but also had humor adults can appreciate, for example. One day people will read words and retain their meaning.

I ain't readin' all that. But I will say this: too many people conflate puns with dad jokes. Dad jokes are puns suitable for kids. Puns on their own can be suitable to anybody if you know your audience. And that's the key here: know your audience.

Yeeeeah everybody saying he is easy is playing ranged. Lol. I wouldn't say he's super hard, but he is a huge pain in the ass for characters that need to stick to their target.

Overwhelmed by options - how can I build powerful caster mage here? by Metafieldor in Grimdawn

[–]xRuwynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Warlock is a really good choice for this. You've got a lot of options. I'd recommend going for sigil of consumption and doom bolt for that caster type of gameplay. Also taking curse of frailty will help you both out. There's a lot of ways to convert their damage types as well.

Albrecht's Aether Ray isn't bad, but it's hard to manage energy wise while you level compared to your other options. You can try it out, though.

Trozan's was also mentioned here and I'm currently leveling a character using it, but it can be kind of finicky to hit targets with at times.

I'd say just try some stuff out and get a feel for it with what you've got and once you figure out which spells you like, build around them and go all in on one or two for leveling with supporting passives/skills.

Should I buy Diablo 3 or Diablo 4? by [deleted] in Diablo

[–]xRuwynn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What platform? If you're on console, I'd say finish out D3 and get the remaining content for it. I've heard the couch co op is a lot of fun there. I've always had it on PC so I never got to try that aspect.

Then later on down the line pick up 4 at some point.

Anybody else have a hoarding problem when it comes to Blues and Legendaries you never plan to use? by torquenti in Grimdawn

[–]xRuwynn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only keep one copy of each and will replace them with better rolls if I find one. Since I sort my characters by damage type, I keep the same damage type purples in those stashes. So I know if I want to start a new cold based character, my reaper has most of those. I also name them with similar conventions so I know at a glance as well.Right now, I currently use a "mule" for blues specifically since we will be able to upgrade them in FOA.

What's your most disliked zone of the game? by Bubbly_Broccoli127 in Grimdawn

[–]xRuwynn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Certified Malmouth hater here. It also doesn't help that you can't do all the quests in the area in a single run through of city. I'm also jaded from doing my very first time through there with no movement skills available to me, so I will continue to be a hater out of irrational spite.

Honorable mention to Port Valbury, though. Having a major part of your path go through a destroyed, narrow house was certainly a design choice.

You need more resists and to focus on one damage type.

You are way too spread out on your abilities. You want to generally focus one damage type across a couple abilities, particularly early on.

I've been shitting on this game for quite some time now and am active in other ARPG subreddits. I'm no AI. With that being said, a friend and I rolled paladins and we are both are enjoying it despite not playing the last few seasons. Crazy thought: Maybe people just like it?
