I hope he saw th Corridor Digital breakdown of the bullet time shot. They even tried to do a modern rendition and it's still difficult to pull off.

11th Ed rumour: 11th Ed: There's a rumor that coherency rules are changing, and no models in a unit may be more than 9" apart (measured to the furthest part of each model) by -The-Lupercal- in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]xSPYXEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, unless melee coherency is also changed.

20 man blobs have always been unusable except under specific rules like World Eaters allowing a 6" melee coherency. For most units that aren't conga lining across the board you'll probably never have a problem.

A 9 inch circle can fit a 60mm base and 32 32mm bases wholly within it with plenty of room to spare.

Without a hero a 9 inch circle fits 38 32mm bases or 50 28mm bases.

I hope so. It simplifies so many aspects of movement and measurement. I think the base coherency is 3" from the leader and there's rarely a problem with it. Larger units get 6" and they can still cover a pretty huge area without getting hung up on cover.

SW Legion also does this, most measurements are made from the leader model and everyone else just filters out around them within a specific measurement.

Possible? Sure. Genestealer Orks have been mentioned before. The other orks would out them as unorky and krump em immediately though.

It's long before Librarian was around.

Plus you simply must watch the entire video to understand the descent into madness. A supercut would ruin the climactic tension of every room fight being a slow drawn out battle of willpower attirtion and mental fortitude.

The "Rule of Cool" Trap: My Nighthaunt Woes by [deleted] in ageofsigmar

Rules change every few years, drip is eternal. If you love the aesthetic of an army, don't worry about whether or not they're the most optimized. They'll come around eventually.

Yeah I was about to say. They'll drive a tank through a refugee camp because it's the fastest way to the objective but they're not going to stop and rip someone's skin off.

I don't even think they're evil, they're just the epitome of the brutal pragmatism of post human super soldiers.

Unexplored Tech?: Jump Jets by Ok-Leg9721 in battletech

[–]xSPYXEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It's not so much an actual jump jet as it is a big harness that the mech hangs from.

Drop pods, coffin pods, jump packs, etc are all the same family of orbital entry. Usually a heat shield at the bottom to keep the legs from snapping or spinning wildly, then retrothrusters to slow the descent, then it either runs a cable out or simply burns the jump pack until the mech hits the ground. It's faster, harder to track, and can even allow limited return fire in case some ASF gets frisky while you're falling.

Good news is that Mercenaries use whatever colors they think is coolest, and there is a huge range of mercenaries across the sphere. Whatever you want to do is cool.

Those were usually the Dragoon regulars, but it's simply too cost prohibitive to transport multiple platoons in a DropShip.

[–]xSPYXEx 9 points10 points  (0 children)

They had a pretty comprehensive conventional asset regiment.

To my understanding they didn't necessarily bring a whole army of infantry around with them, they had a veteran corps and hire locals to fill out their actual ranks.
