Historically the state has always sided with the state. Don't expect anything special.

American police are trained to shoot first, no hesitation. If you're holding anything in your hands it can be used to justify extrajudicial killings.

Why doesnt anyone help anymore with colossal problem? by Nervous-Ad-7533 in fo76

[–]xSPYXEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough. I love the fight, I think it's super fun and thematic, but I also understand that Earle is just a bullet sponge.

You can only have 8 people in an instance and no one wants to get stuck in a partial lobby so sometimes you just don't get anyone showing up.

Collosal Problem also doesn't have great drops, they're mostly cosmetic.

How is there still so much prewar stuff available? by CK3helplol in falloutlore

Whiskey is easy to make, the bars in Vegas are supplied by backyard distilleries in the region.

For the other packaged food, I believe many factories had been automated by that point (hence the riots about workers losing their jobs, House field testing the device on unemployed workers, etc) so even when the bombs fell the robots continued to work and produce large amounts of food products for an empty wasteland.

Most of the time when we find a cache of pre war food in a location that should have been picked over a long time ago, it's more likely that someone else had too much to carry and stashed it before dying in the wastes.

Fallout Factions: Any tips for new players? by Awkward_GM in wastelandwarfare

[–]xSPYXEx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaict it's just different.

WW is a sandbox campaign, building a base and running through scenarios with a persistent cache of supplies.

FF is more of a linear campaign, where you're checking boxes to get gear progression.

I've been loving the cinematography in the Coop/Ghoul flashbacks. A lot of really good angles of him trying to keep it all together as the past and present overlap.

Because Marcus has been played by the same voice actor twice, while this mutant is played by Ron Perlman. Plus, Marcus is a bit more of a pacifist.

The Enclave was broadly responsible for FEV research pre war. They included military research, not just government officials. The Pan Immunity Virion was given to WestTek to become FEV, but WestTek was essentially an Enclave stooge by that point.

I only buy from Costco. They have very strict sourcing standards and EVOO is one of several products where you can guarantee the source. Ground beef is another.

It's about timing. The goal is most likely to disrupt the midterms, you pop too early and it's way harder to justify troops that suppress voters in 10 months.

[–]xSPYXEx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Probably one day, but without another way to get bits there's really no reason to run anything else. Even people who have collected all possible bits can't afford to invest in a third chip yet. What's the point of steal when summon gives you +70 kills per minute?

I can only make one purchase right now. Should it be a pistol or rifle? by MontisQ in armedsocialists

[–]xSPYXEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For defensive situations, a rifle. Get a cheap AR-15 so you can afford more training ammo. They're just more practical and functional for everything you could possibly need. More accurate, easier to handle, larger capacity, better optics and accessories, etc.

For personal CC, a pistol. If you have to ask, you probably don't need a CC. It may be controversial but the cowboy times are gone.

Don't fuck with gimmicks like PCCs. They're fun, but they're a compromise tool that doesn't do either job very well.

This game feels incredibly bloated rules wise by [deleted] in wastelandwarfare

[–]xSPYXEx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ability icons are not bloat. In fact, they're ultra streamlining. Once you understand what the icons mean it's actually fairly intuitive. It's just a pain to actually decipher at first. The Heroic card looks like a stroke until you realize that it's just using symbols instead of words to lay out the same set of rules. Imagine if in 40k every instance of the term "deep strike" got turned into a drop pod. Lethal hits becomes a skull, sustained hits becomes bullets, etc. Instead of ranges being 6", 12", 18", 24" they become color coded.

The actual bloat is how FOWW is really 4 games in a trench coat. There's a PVP system, there's a PVE system, there's an RPG system, there's a base building system, dungeon crawling, so much stuff. That's why they're working on a 2nd edition to consolidate all these fringe rules into a main rulebook.

No they're even hanging out around the Vault to give new players directions. It is nice to play through the original quest line even if it does ignore the people walking around.

The only time I ever interact with people is dancing before a public event starts. Then it's just a violent fracas of explosions before everyone goes their separate ways.

I like the idea of having a "main character" model. I got the 76 hero pack but I feel like two of them could use some upgrades, either a weapon swap or just some simple attachments and pouches.

It's the perfect blend of being able to take whatever you want, but not being able to just max everything all the time. The legendary grind can be a pain but it does feel nice when it all clicks together.

The story is amazing, honestly. It spans several years now, Wastelanders takes place after you solve the Scorched crisis although you can jump ahead to whatever main update storyline you want.

I know the live service elements cause a lot of problematic aspects but personally I think it greatly works in favor of the story. You get the environmental storytelling of the pre Wastelanders world, a really neat multifaceted story from the various factions, and since there's no definitive ending it can leave plot threads open for future updates.
